Seriously? She would've been accused of keeping her formula and playing it safe. ARTPOP, in terms of sound, is very much consistent with TF/TFM/BTW and it is constantly seen as her "flop" that she needed to "comeback" from. Her issue is that her persona became disliked by the GP, which is why she had to reinvent her image. Trust me, after the world sees what a stick up, self absorbed jerk Ed Sheeran is he'll probably have to reinvent his image to. You never consistently remain on top and he'll learn that whenever Subtract comes out. :madge:

I don't really speak about the sound which is nice in ARTPOP (except for few failures as JnD or MANiCURE) , I rather mean her priorities and organisation. At certain point she did stop to listen to ppl and started to shoot videos by herself and do number of other unprofessional stuff.

I can imagine it can be inspiring to be in control of everything, but she would be so much better off listening to professionalists at times.

it's incredible to me how nearly every single male musician seems to have a problem with lady gaga; ed sheeran, the chainsmokers, adam levine, calvin harris. I'm sure there's quite a few I'm missing. The point I'm making is....

WHY ARE MALE MUSICIANS MADE SO INSECURE BY LADY GAGA, THO?

I think it's time buzzfeed wrote an investigative article.

And yet, the arguably most talented and authentic ones (Bruno, Abel, Troye, Lambert, not to mention legends like Lars, Sir Elton, Slash, among others) do not.

Yeah I agree. I think it's always important to listen to others. At the end of the day it is still a business and a lot of people's livelihoods rest upon success.

I think as Gaga fans we tend to take the 'music not the bling' motto a little too literal at times. It's rare for any artist to have total creative control and Gaga has said herself she takes direction from her label as well. It's just the industry. She may have to 'sacrifice' smaller parts of her song to get her overall message out there. Worthy price to pay I'd say.

There is also countless reasons why someone wants to get into the music business; art, money, fame, influence etc and I think it's perfectly fine for Ed to admit to wanting bling. He's talented regardless. Just my two cents. :)

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

So basically, sell yourself out to the devils in control of the industry to stay on top, and let your musicality and creativity die? **** no. GTFO. I'm proud of Gaga for standing up for her music and releasing her own creative products and not what her label wants.

I hate Sheeran's boring ass music anyway.

And Paula Abdul ain’t got [BLEEP] on me!

Don't point fingers at other artists just because you haven't had a decent song since "Sing".

Now that Divide is out this shade sounds even more stupid. You don't need a label or a manager to pick 'castle in the hill / shape of you' since it's the only single worthy material on the record. They were going to pick bonus track 'Barcelona' (the original lead is now a bonus track wow much integrity very concept)...

In fact, the decision may be bad since the singles would have done good as stand alones and now I wonder what are they going to pick next....

He can't be serious?! I'm surprised he got a record deal in the first place, there's just something missing with him. I guess he fit the 'geeky indie' guitar sing-along stereotype at the time

1) Shape of You is a terrible-sounding, generic trop house, No Scrubs headass, Sia song wannabe.

2) Gaga didn't dwindle after The Fame Monster, especially considering her 10 top-5  singles (One almost 10 years into her career) compared to your 2.

3) At least Gaga has integrity in herself, music, and artistry, unlike you who is just looking for a chart-topper.

(I'm speaking directly to Ed Sheeran of course.)

Lady Palutena

Oh really? Well, we know what happens to those who play it safe all the time...

That being said, I take this as shade to both Gaga and Mariah, two women who control their album sound and the direction. Ooh, if only Mimi would read him for the over-rated, redundant, filth that he is. Or even Gaga.

Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.

He is a double face, he shows himself as a sweet boy but inside, Ed Sheeran is a snake with a big ego.

Here's to our brand new start, I won't be waiting for nothing. I'll mend the broken parts. Pick up the pieces,

Guys, seriously, there is NO REASON to think that those comments were about Gaga (unless there's something other than what's quoted here, and much more specific). Whether she's listening to vs. fighting with her label, which albums are more successful, etc. is stuff that only little monsters argue about or keep track of. To say "because it was after her second album that"... nobody but us, or maybe a professional critic, would think of her in those terms.
