Nemo 4,294
There are two things wrong with what he said: 1. Being on top, and then the decline? That happens to everybody, no matter what they do (if they're lucky enough to get on top in the first place). Try to find a sustained period of being "on top" that lasts more than a few years, for any artist -- you won't. Even the ones you think did, really didn't. Some of them had comebacks, but none of them were invincible. 2. The implication that the record company people know what they're doing? They don't. They have ideas, sure, but they're not any more likely to be right than the artist, and often less likely. Their valuable experience mostly consists in throwing everything at the wall, seeing what sticks, and then riding that to death. But even if we supposed that they did know what they were doing, that doesn't mean that artists should listen to them, because the label is in it to make a quick buck off of you, not to develop your long-term career. There may be exceptions, but that's the general rule. (As seen here -- choosing the "fun radio song" vs. the "classic", if we can assume those descriptions are accurate. One makes more money now, the other has more potential to develop your career.) That said, I wouldn't assume that he meant this to be about anyone in particular, and I wouldn't hold it against him. I just think he's wrong.
Green Eyes 112
Well if I didn't hate him enough already... he's obviously talking about Gags. He's a douche who makes shitty boring music, I am so tired of the GP being obsessed with basics like him. Spoiler And adele

Fusel 1,109
It's his second interview where he talks about being 'the biggest' with no more substance behind it to back it up. I think it's a dangerous kind of obsessive fixation on his part. This is the attitude towards life that I have no sympathy for. Don't make fun of people who aspire to be more than admired by other people. Have some faith in your own potential and start asking yourself whether you are really doing this for you or the recognition you get from other people. In the latter case: immediately stop cause popularity is not going to stay and it's not self-serving, you will look back and realize you didn't really do anything you wanted, but what other people wanted

gagu 1,928
So he does it just for money and fame, or at least he adapts his "creativity" (oooh the shade) to commercial success. That's so sad. Is he jealous because he can only write about bodies and chicks? "Jezus iz a biskweeeet!" [Kenya Michaels]

He's far more up his own arse than the people he is talking about. Being number 1 or commercially successful means **** all. McDonalds is one of the top food brands in the world, it ain't for quality. The fact that he's openly proud of not being unique or creative is laughable. And like you guys say, he has to take this position really because he couldn't push boundaries if he tried. The comparison with McDonalds, lmao! He's idiot and an unrisky artist.
