Oprah's story is literally makes her one of the most inspiring and influential figures alive. And to compare her, the most successful African American women to ever life, to Kris Jenner is... 

Oprah is a billionare. Let me repeat that. A billionaire. 

Kris Jenner is worth $125 million dollars.

Oprah Winfrey is worth over 4 billion. 

To put that into comparison, Donald Trump by the MOST liberal estimates is barely worth 2 billion dollars.

Oprah is most than twice as wealthy/successful as President Trump.

But when people refer to Trump, they call him a business man first, then TV man.

When people, like you, refer to Oprah, they call her a "TV personality", and then down the line you think of "businesswoman."

Why is that? Perhaps it's because O spends more time on air? Or maybe it's because people are inherently trained to assume the most minimal among of achievement for women.  

Oprah is one of the wealthiest woman in the world and you think she's just a TV personality? Oprah is first and foremost a businesswoman, and these are the kinds of people who man great leaders; they're the people that are most successful in their fields.

yes i'm quoting myself  

but i was thinking. say this hypothetical came true and we only had two branches (judiciary and congress) with power to check one another, if there is no third branch with power to politically influence and check the other two, wouldnt one branch eventually win? it would definitely be congress right? congress would have damn near all the power and we all know how we hate congress for all the stalemating that is going on and how corrupt they already are. they could be left to make their own rules without any other authority to step in and stop them.

This person has no executive experience and he doesn't preside on a single Senate Committee with any foreign policy clearance, aka no foreign policy experience. 

Oprah is the most successful black woman of all time, runs international businesses and charities, and is TWICE as wealthy as Donald Trump who was elected BECAUSE he's made a fortune is business. 

But just because this dude has cast votes in the Senate for barely two terms you think he's qualified to be president for some reason???

I remember that the main argument against Obama in 2008 was that he's too inexperienced as a political leader and yet he's probably in the Top 3 best presidents the United States ever had.

Oprah has the mental capacity to learn, she is a fierce fighter and most of all she is compassionate and listens, a trait that many US presidents fail to display. I'd bet she would kick ass at being a president.

 

well i would say that knowledge war and the military are very important in politics and i think the first 3 on your list were generals in wars.  in the environments they were elected in it makes sense to elect a military general i mean we are choosing our "Commander in chief" of the military. the association of our leader with a military leader was stronger back then.

the political climate after a war encourages the election of a militar leader. zachary taylor was elected after the mexican american war

ulysses was elected after the civil war(he was a decorated general from that war)

Eisenhower(military general in WW2) was elected after WW2 

barak obama was a lawyer and senator so he had some experience as a politician even though the doubters tried to call him inexperienced. cant compare him to trump or oprah who have zero experience. 

with reagan i agree. even though he had political experience as california's governor, we elected the freaking terminator to that same position twice  

 

i'm not sure how oprah would do as president but i would definitely be ok with her over our current president

Oprah is great, her story is inspiring, she has overcome unbelievable adversity to become one of the most influential and respected people on the planet.

Obviously I prefer Oprah to Trump and I think she is a fantastic person - but I'm not sure that the person who endorsed 'the secret' and is responsible for giving the dangerous and unethical Dr. Oz a television platform is the best person for the job of POTUS.

I would hope that there are more qualified and progressive candidates running in 2020. Our aim should be greater than winning for the sake of winning, we need to retain some standards.

Kanye West has said he will run for president in 2020.

Maybe Meryl Streep can also run on the Democratic ticket, Clint Eastwood can run as a Republican and the U.S presidential election can become the A-lister equivalent of Celebrity Big Brother, The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing With The Stars!!

We need a business outsider to be the anti-Trump. You're never going to achieve that with a seasoned political, we need someone like her or Bloomberg (both wealthier than Trump) who have practical knowledge of the real world or else he's going to get 8 years.

This is one of the best ideas since we elected Bill Clinton. The country does best under moderate Democrats who are more fiscally conservative.

Well, maybe she can spend the next two years educating herself on government etc. and begin her campaign in 2019 with a fresh mind. That would be great. 

I don't want another Trump. If she knows what she's talking about I'm here for it. I just don't want the presidency to be a reality show circus like this past election was. Where we have people with 0 knowledge yapping about stuff they have no clue about.
