U.S. President Donald Trump's administration will leave protections in place for immigrants who entered the country illegally as children, known as "dreamers," but will consider all other illegal immigrants subject to deportation, according to guidance released on Tuesday.

Good. I was worried for some of my friends who benefitted from these protections.

It's so bad for those good migrants caught under the net though :ohno:

Still, Im sure this news comes as a relief to 750,000 individuals.

I really hope that the parents of these dreamers are protected as well if they came in illegally with their children. Separating families on a big scale (e.g. the ban) does more harm than good.

Baby steps. He'll get to them soon enough. You'll see. Remeber he said only criminal immigrants were a priority. Now he says all illegal immigrants are criminals because they are here illegally. So they are ALL priority.

1. What about the guardians/family of the Dreamers? That's a loophole.

2. If deporting undocumented immigrants is as easy as Trump says, then why do we even have undocumented immigrants in the first place? If they were really that big of a problem, as Trump states, then we'd be on a completely different topic.

They are in danger of being deported, which is the Trump way of getting rid of them too. They will end up without their parents and family in the country, so unless they have a stable good paying job or are in college, they will end up going back with their family.

Also, parents of legally born citizens could be deported, so then we are taking away family breadwinners. In essence, they will be putting more children into poverty and breaking up stable family units.

Yea, that was kind of my point. In the end, Trump still loses because of that.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THIS

The plan is to have Jeff Sessions deal with this in the courts. This accomplishes 2 things: it get's rid of the protections for Dreamers, and Trump gets to keep his hands clean.

His mass deportation plan is coming through. There are organizations that plan on fighting this such as the ACLU and United We Dream.
