InTraumatica 5,786
I like Lana, but her lyrics are so pretentious. Perfect for "depressed" teenagers who just broken up with their boyfriend.

Swan Heart 7,382
Nah. I really like Lana but I don't see it. I mean, Bad Romance alone.. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
Lucas 27,045
Gaga's lyrics got way more diversity. Each album's lyrics are different, seems like it's written by a different person each time, like she plays a role when she writes lyrics... Lana got this poetic side though, but I really think Gaga has more diversity and more potential as a song writer

Bad Kids 3,055
Lana Del Rey's lyrics is simple, poetic and easy to understand with simple vocabulary, and straight to the point. Gaga's is poetic, metaphorical a little complex and can represent a lot of things with double meaning. I love both of them equally, they're both awesome in their own ways. And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.
Levine 23,583
Both are great, but I go with Gaga because she can write about several themes and not about the same, toxic, old love.
RainOnMeeeeee 67
I don't think so. I adore Lana, but her lyrics remind me of bad poetry written by a teenager going through a phase. Quite predictable, often having the same theme. Vapid. I'm not bashing her, I just wish she could write about other things and broaden her style a bit. Fanta 5,019
It annoys me that people think Lana writes her songs for 'depressed Tumble aesthetic teens' when in reality she's been doing this for years before stepping into stardom and if you compare her old work to her current you can tell she matured dramatically. I have always preferred Lana's lyrics to Gage's, they always got me thinking and I loved the stories she told. Maybe it's the fact that I relate to a lot of what she says that makes me like them so much? But even when I don't I'm always captivated. I'll go with Lana. This Lana's lyrics/songs just capture me and I always go into a "zone" when I listen to them. They inspire me and make me daydream. It's something Gaga hasn't done to me in that way. At first when I heard Summertime Sadness I was like "ugh is she trying to make people sad and depressed? like wtf?", mind you I was like 13/14 and a very optimistic and happy person. And when I found out that her debut album is called "Born To Die" I was like "oh hell no, why would this woman be THAT negative???" But then I gave it a listen, and I learned how deep, meaningful and beautiful her songs actually are. When I saw the Ride music video I just thought that she was one of the most original and creative singers nowadays. That monologue just hit me and that's when I started to really be a fan of hers. I'm not a "depressed Tumblr kid" but I sure feel some kind of connection to her stories. Also her voice is just something else.
