I'm just happy that it's not another kendrick and taylor thing and that this album also deserves it too.

A white woman album about heartbreak that received similar critical scores except 1989 was a sonic departure for Taylor. How was 25 deserving but 1989 not? :oprah:

Lemonade and 25 were both critically and commercially successful albums. Adele's sound is just more in sync with how Grammy voters tend to vote.

Or the other totally rational explanation is racism. In spite of Beyonce being the most nominated woman in the academy's history, and winning over 20 Grammys, the Grammys are clearly racist... :smh:

Hope you're kidding. Beyoncé was the most nominated along with chance. They both won awards...

Black people mostly win on categories where they run against each other. The last time a black person won album of the year was 9 years ago. There was one year where no black people were even nominated for Album of the Year while Iggy Azalea was :trollga: Everyone knows the voting system for the Grammys are very flawed. People from the Academy have said that it consists mostly old white males and you can vote in whatever category you want even if it's not in your area of expertise. That's why bigger names win the awards and not better albums.

You don't get it. It has nothing to do with Taylor herself. I just find it funny that consistently Artist of color who make exceptional music are snubbed by the committee for their white counterparts.

I'm not disagreeing, but I don't see how 25 is any more deserving or less than than 1989 when they're very similar

I've also read that many times so many Academy members who lean towards voting for say Drake or Beyoncé end up splitting their votes. This could have been the case here. I actually know of an insider who revealed their vote for Drake. My point is that I don't think racism is the issue. Racism exists, but I don't think it's much of an issue with recording academy.
