No Gaga radio plays

I posted this in another Forum about Katy Perry but it applies her as well and pretty much explains how the UK's radio system works. 

In that post there was a video where Katy said- "How does one radio station think they have the power to call the routing on artists." She was saying this in realtion to her son ET not doing well in the UK and it's obvious she's talking about Radio 1. Those radio DJ's only play what THEY like and their friends music, but it's the biggest radio station in the UK. It's always puzzled me how they have such a grip on the UK music scene.

For example, Radio 1 has pushed the music of -

Adele (Went to the Brit School, a known proponent of Radio 1. They pushed her music back when no one knew who she was)

Ed Sheeran (Was friends with all of the Radio dj's before his music was even released)

Ellie Golding (Dated the Radio Dj who has one of the most successful Radio 1 shows)

Calvin Harris (Has given them Live exclusives from his Ibiza Concerts)

There are more but that's all i can think of off the top of my head. They are a very, 'scratch my back and i'll scratch you'rs' type of Radio Channel. Why do you think Gaga went and co-hosted one of the shows? Because she knew that was the only way to get radio plays in the UK. But since she did that, she hasn't returned to the UK or called into the radio or anything, and so they aren't going to play her newer music. They don't play anyone unless it benefits them in some way. A simple recording of Gaga saying, "Hi, this is Lady Gaga and you're listening to Radio 1" would have he being played every other hour. 

In other words, the entire system is corrupt.
