Random Access Memories

Let's go back to the iconic, analog, trend-defining, a favorite of mine and one of the best albums of the 2010s,

Random Access Memories

The album is one of the few that sound better, the less digital it is.
I went from streaming, to iTunes and then to lossless on the CD, and it sounded better each time.
I didn't have the chance to listen to it on vinyl tho :/

It all starts with Give Life Back to Music

Nile Rodgers played the guitar btw

Spoiler

Maybe music today could use some life :neyde:

I see u tropical flop beats :neyde:

On track three, Giorgio by Moroder, Moroder himself talks a bit about his early life and his musical career.
Fun Fact: Daft Punk used different microphones for each decade in which Moroders story is currently placed.
So for example, when he was talking about the 70s, they used a microphone from the 70s.
Recording the voice session alone took them about two days.

Track six is the first collab with DP and Pharrell Williams on the album, Loose Yourself to Dance.

It and Instant Crush were the only songs that got a real music video.
For Get Lucky they only shot footage for promo at Coachella and TV.

And then, track eight, is probably the biggest hit of Daft Punk

Get Lucky

I don't need to tell anyone about this song, it was everywhere
I want Gaga and the trio to collab on a song, can you imagine

The last song on the album is Contact.

Imo, I have never heard a better song to close an album.
The spoken part in the intro came from the Apollo 17 mission, NASA actually gave them full access to their audio library for them to sample.

Go ahead and listen to full album, or better, buy it on CD, put on some good headphones, and listen to every detail in every song

I can't wait for Daft Punks next album.
And it probably could come very soon, they don't collab with anyone just for fun :lana:

I remember some of the hype before the album dropped :laughga:

Everyone expected some EDM slayage, but then the Coachella ad with some seconds of Get Lucky played and everyone was loosing IT.

I am so glad that it did so well, it really paved the way for disco and funk to come back, and basically rebooted Nile Rodgers career :emma:

AND Giorgio Moroder's career as well

i may be reaching but we wouldn't have Gaga's "I Want Your Love" without RAM's impact

I even doubt we would've got C2C or Joanne in the way it is.

This album proved that "analog" music can still be sucessful and that EDM is actually pretty lame most of the time. :lana:

slay I love the space vibe from the song and I have skullcandy skull crushers(headphones that vibrate) so the song really feels like a space adventure. Instant crush is so amazing  Idk if it's just me or is this a gay love song, it's a favorite song of mine in general
