Even if u change style... not one is on top forever, even the biggest legends

Its an industry where its literally impossible to dominate for more than a few years

Even acts like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beatles, Abba etc

People get the impression looking back that they dominated their entire relevant careers but they really didnt

Most had their 3-5 years of extreme success... after that they still had hits and success but it was more toned down. Not every song they released became a hit. They did have some flops in most albums and they werent the #1 headliners anymore even if they were still relevant

This. I feel like so many people dont get this tbh.

Thats why always root your fave for QUALITY music not CHART TOPPERS.

I love how you guys are being so nice towards her (majority) and shocked and worried for her era, whereas Katy fans tore us all apart when PI didnt do as well as expected

This has to be karma sent from pop's goddess. Whenever our fanbase are being douches, Gaga gets the dust. I guess the same applies to other fanbasess..

no "the GP has bad taste" excuse now? :usrs:

They do, that doesn't mean they like every piece of **** thrown their way. Just the most catchy pieces of ****.

OT: I do feel a little bad for Katy, she makes music for the sales and charts, so for her to flop means all that effort was wasted, cause it's not like the song existed for any other reason than to become a hit.

People in here are so extra while talking about sales ugh :madge: No, a "flop" era is not the end of an artist every time. Just look at Xtina, people still have expectations for her new album. Look at Gaga, people said she was over back in 2013 and last week she peaked again with Joanne.

About Katy's song, it doesn't surprise me though. The song is not that good, even if it has a political message behind. Even Rise was more empowering and better executed. The lyrics are better imo.

Kworb just said this on ATRL "It's bombing. It's not even going to #1 on iTunes. So that's like a 50k debut"...this is really tragic it's already starting to fall on US iTunes Charts.

Kworb also said that CTTR sold 15K in it's first day...

In comparison Perfect Illusion sold 50K (same amount that CTTR is going to debut) in it's first day and debuted with 100K without any performances on TV or any promotion other than the radio, Katy will perform the song @ The Grammys so we'll see if that gives it a boost

So is this going to be her dark era? :neyde:

If by dark you mean dark red, then probably yes.
