I have a love/hate relationship with her. When she first came out, I liked her singles, purely for a bit of fun, nothing to take too seriously, though I didn't think her debut album was all that great. Then she became a sensation with TD and although I like that album and it's my favourite from her, I was slightly bitter that she was slaying when Gaga was starting to struggle. Then when the Prism era began, we really got off on the wrong foot. Not only did I not like Roar, but it went up against Applause and she'd deliberately timed this era to go against Gaga, knowing that she'd win (though, I'm sure it was her label who did this, I'm not putting the blame completely on her). After that, Gaga just couldn't catch a break and it could all be traced back to the bad beginning. I felt going up against her was underhanded and disrespectful and when I saw Katy continue to get hits and sell well and have her most successful tour while Gaga was going under...I really began to dislike her. And I started to revel in every moment that went wrong for her. I won't deny, I'm secretly pleased that she took so long to make this album and its lead single isn't a big banger because now she's got a chance of experiencing an underperforming era like Gaga. But it has been so long that I'm trying to be neutral and give her a fair chance and while CTTR isn't bad, it's not amazing either. But I won't put her down unnecessarily. I genuinely want her to deliver a better album than Prism. I just don't want her to come back to effortless success again while Gaga still has to bust her ass for a hit despite having better music.

little bit off topic but honestly I'm not even a Katy fan and I like her new song... well music-wise it's not that good but the lyrics are better than 50% of Joanne (and I love Joanne so that says a lot)

No, she is such a lovely kind hearted person. She seems like a lot of fun to be around! I couldnt possibly hate against that!! 

Its just her music hasnt really evolved like I expected. Her new song is growing on me a bit, but its not to the point of downloading it. I'm hoping that the rest of her new album will be better

After seeing Katy Keene comics, I started second guessing (although I guess you could argue a similar thing about Gaga in some instances..). I really only appreciate Katy as a person and for having good songs to bop too. But I find that her "act" is trying to keep up with mainstream instead of breaking out and doing something new. I do like her though.

Hate is such a strong word. I generally just don't care about her music. Personality wise I'd take Katy over Taylor any day though

No. I typically find her work to be guilty pleasures cause, well, they're always fun but usually lack substance? I thought PRISM was safe and a retread of Teenage Dream, but I still enjoyed the album for what it was. I even lowkey like Birthday...if that tells you anything. Chained to the Rhythm is just flat out not good. You don't have to stan Gaga to think that.
