What if Katy's song blows up after she performs it? I think it's a bit premature to label it a "flop". (I personally can't stand the song....at all. I think it's awful actually! But still, I feel like it's too early to get cocky or "feel bad" about CTTR "flopping" when MR has taken so long to get to where it is now even).

I only made an account on ATRL for looking at chart stuff, I don't even comment, it's really such a vicious place

But what if it debuts low-ish and then increases to #1 for several weeks after she performs it? It may take a month even, but it would still be a hit and not a flop.

I hate CTTR, and I ADORE Million Reasons. But I don't think it's fair to label a song a "flop" because of a "poor" debut, when it has plenty of time to increase. Especially when our own fave's 3 month old single is just now entering the top 50. Anything is possible!

We don't need a bunch of Katy-Cats quoting our "CTTR FLOPPED" posts and gloating if it becomes #1 a few weeks from now.

Remember what we were saying about Perfect Illusion? It was a smash after 24 hours compared to CTTR

So I'm still not 100% sure if I understood what i just read about how the Hot100 works. Is it true that a song that sells more but with low streaming will chart lower than a song that sells less because the less-selling song has more streams? And that it has to be streamed 150 times to count as 1 song sold but does the artist actually gain money from that?
