Awkward when CTTR has all of that :sharon:

To be fair the feature is pretty irrelevant.  Skip Marly is literally a nobody.

It's not like it was Necki

Good point :sharon:

But really you know what I said is true. Katy is a spineless artist when it comes to her art and she can go crawling to any big artist for a feature for that hit. She is THIRSTY for hits and she will get them in the near future.

The only reason I say this so harshly is because I just saw a video of her crying over E.T the song flopping at first :rip: how embarrassing. Is she an artist or a money making machine who only cares for charts? Like in the video her manager is comforting her....It is disgusting when a money hungry MANAGER is the one comforting an ARTIST! :rip: no integrity. Sorry.

anyways on topic: I think if MR becomes a hit we can expect nice things for this era. The total sales will be pretty big guys! MR is a ballad and ballads sell albums so this can definitely help the songs total SPS and pure sales in the US.

Also excited for today's radio update! they spinned her a good amount.

Katy will bounce back. It is inevitable. She could easily just throw out a song featuring Drake tomorrow and it would become a smash just like Rihanna with the 45 Seconds to Work situation.

Unfortunately talent is not and has never been the most important thing in the music industry in order to stay relevant. There are plenty of talentless artists who stayed relevant and big for decades actually.  (Not insulting Katy just saying).

It's rolling effect could be HUGE tho :toofunny:

MR is doing excellent!!

and CTTR is doing so so bad, Gaga had ARTPOP but with her incredible voice, talent and etc. she is back, what Katy has to be back again?

The thing with CTTR is that it's just an awful song. I've listened to it a lot, so as to not judge prematurely, and I honestly thought there is just no way it would become a hit.

When LG brings out a song that doesn't hit with the GP / wider market, she has a solid established fanbase to fall back on and, although divisive, her songs are bold and innovative enough to establish new fans and followers. When someone like KP misses the wider market, she really doesn't have much to fall back on. She built a brand on colourful, cotton candy visuals and fun-light pop. I don't think she quite has what it takes to reinvent her self the way LG can. Her decision to alienate her audience with dark socio-political commentary and a disco sound will be one she regrets, imo.

Do you guys see 'Everyday ft Future' by Ariana Grande being a hit? Radio has already been playing it but it gets sent on the 14th I believe.

Yes, if only for radio pushing it. Its sales:radio AI ration is not good but she has been majorly successful so they will continue to push it.

it's frustrating to see how Gaga fights hard and honest for #1 sales only for radio to ignore it and spin a song that the GP isn't here for instead

To be fair, they did similarly for Perfect Illusion in the beginning. This is just a radio deal for Katy at the moment. We'll see if they're still here for it next week.

Yes they did girl, here's Day 2. Yes, that's fairly low for a radio deal, but it's still a LOT for pop radio considering the song Perfect Illusion is. I fully expect them to embrace Katy's song more because it fits in better, but you have to realize that this week is not just radio spamming because of bias for her, most of these spins are coming from a radio deal.

Unless radio deals have suddenly shrunk to just the first day. Last I knew, they were generally for the first week for bigger artists.

I'm talking about the spins/AI, which were pretty good, not the position. Considering the song does not fit in on Top 40, it's a miracle they even played it the whole first week in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but it's not comeback single material at all.
