well the saudi's are currently bombing yemen off the map (i think for counter terrorism stuff, or maybe religious reasons too, i'm not sure, but displacing a lot of civilians and killing civilians at times too iirc), and much of this is being funded by the US more or less. so in terms of yemen i'm guessing they're creating safe zones while at the same time continuing the bombing? idk. 

 

syria, is complicated too seeing as the assad regime continues to gain more ground, ISIS is dwindling over all, there are russian and turkish interests there (along with US), so i'm thinking safe zones for who? pro regime people? pro US interests fighters (during the obama administration at least)? or non militant civilians (how do you know who is what in some areas)?

empty talk in my opinion (kind of an unfeasible idea) unless there are people on the ground (saudi or US troops or some kind of affiliates). i for one am against deploying a huge number of US troops to syria
