It would only bring drama and negativity to her, She needs to choose her battle's wisely this is not the place for that. She's already making A statement anyways by being for the LGBT. but how is she being for the lgbt by performing for a **** ton of conservatives and ignoring the struggle of those who've supported her? Harry 26,836
When we talk about Gaga making a statement, most of you really mean make a huge criticism/dig of Trump. OP you mention how divisive the country currently is - it would only increase the tensions and leave a stain on the Super Bowl imo. Plus what will her whining about Trump actually achieve? Everyone knows her stance on him, it won't be anything new or particularly memorable. Bey was different, she was representing a cause largely misrepresented in mainstream media. Disdain for Trump is everywhere, under many big public figures. Any kind of social comment she makes will be taken within the context of these times, so she may as well make it a positive one. We need more of that. It's exhausting just to switch on the news or radio these days, even to look at your social media feed. It's everywhere. People don't need that in the middle of their Super Bowl Sunday as well, it would be so extra of her imo.
TheKillerQueen 1,983
God I hope she doesn't say anything political... I'm so afraid of that. Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

Angry white ladies will make anti-gaga/anti-NFL posts on Facebook. It will be the hot News of the week. Donald Trump will send a tweet her way. #BOYCOTTLADYGAGA will travel around the internet. All eyes will be on Gaga. That's sounds like good promo.

SlaeUrAnus 16,010
It's career suicide if you ask me. I would like minor statements. Like her screaming "NO MATTER GAY, STRAIGHT OR BI" if she performs Born This Way In my messy era.
takemetovenus 4,826
I saw this post on facebook talking about how Gaga is a bisexual woman from an immigrant Italian family and one of the biggest LGBT allies and is doing the first Superbowl in Trump's America. She will make some sort of statement in my opinion, whether its big, or subtle. Gaga has spent a good part of her career fighting for LGBT and there's no way she won't allude to that somehow. I mean, she was called Lady Gay Gay a lot by conservatives at the peak of her career, so
Daredevil 2,133
Yes, but she'll have to stay classy. Her performance won't unite America. Even if she sang Kumbaya my Lord. And let's be honest: Do you want to be united with Nazis and KKK? Why are you all so afraid? Conservatives don't like her anyway. She has nothing to lose. I don't want that performance to be forgettable like Katy's Superbowl performance.

The more I read the news, the more I want Gaga to make a political statement. At the same time, I know that would ruin her image once again. The most likely scenario is that Gaga will instead make a social statement about equality and kindness. This. Although Trump supporters don't really care about Gaga (and her liberal views) anyway
Eighteen 5,430
i don't know what she should do, whatever she decides, political or not, i'll be g with it. i'm just worried that half the cries at the SB will be boos from the get go because of politics. (i can't imagine most of the demographic for football to be liberal. but i might be wrong?)

I hope she sings the bridge PROMINENTLY, maybe even with no music and just the piano for this part: No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track baby, I was born to survive. No matter black, white or beige Chola or orient made, I'm on the right track baby, I was born to be brave. She doesn't need to do a speech or show shocking images. Her music is the moral ground she stands on, she believes in her work and I believe she'll let it speak for itself. I literally came here to post this after reading the OP. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
