wahkeenasitka 1,995
i have a friend who has been HIV+ for more than 20 years. She's totally healthy, but she does have to take drugs every single day of her life.
Edonis 28,974
My best friend works at the neighboring hospital with my work as a HIV researcher. Trust me, it's not gone by any means but there has been A LOT of progress in the field. I will definitely watch when I have the time
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
Very true that HIV/AIDS is still a big issue. Gotta bring awareness to that. I applaud this media outlet for doing this. I just cringe when media puts the focus on homosexual males. It perpetuates a stereotype that has been worked so hard to get rid of. HIV/AIDS affects everyone. I'm not saying this is bad or anything like that. It just makes me wonder if there's a better way to represent HIV/AIDS in the media, so that it doesn't end up looking like a gay disease. True - but if the statistics and the facts backup the fact that it infects homosexual men more(disproportionately), then what can ya do - LIE?! Egypt. Thanks for sharing We've come a long way, to the point that people can nearly live a normal life with HIV or AIDS but I can't wait until we can eradicate the disease entirely Whimsical bitch
