While music is subjective in nature, there is a certain level of objectivity in the artistic field. I quote this from some member of the Grammy panel. They were talking about how Grammy voters were asked to judge objectively something which is subjective in nature. So yeah, if you fail to even recognise the objective brilliance that most people could discern, then you don't have fine taste, you are picky.
