The sooner the USA realizes they are not all-that, the better. Their patriotism and never-questioning attitude towards their outdated constitution was always kinda annoying but they took it to the next level by electing Trump.

I feel sorry for the actual majority of US Americans who didn't vote for that manchild, but the USA as a whole needs to learn a thing or two about the rest of the world. Yes, we like your entretainment, your technology, your language, and even your trillionaire consumist multinational franchisings. But that doesn't mean you actually get to do whatever you want without consequences.

Maybe being self-centered will help them realize that they need to fix themselves before trying to fix other countries.

You can hate it or love it but USA is a big deal otherwise none of local policies will affect majorly to the rest of the world greatly in all kind of levels, but it does and that is a fact.

I didn't say they aren't a big deal. I said just because they are a big deal, it doesn't mean other countries will let them push them around without consequences.

It is huge responsibilty indeed, we must tread carefully with every political moves. Trump is the most reckless one by far, and we don't know what these policies will become in the long run.

the US is the most powerful country in the world in hard power. The EU, which is the biggest soft power in the world, is basically America's bitch. They own the world but cracks started showing during Bush and during 8 days of Trump the decline is accelerating. Still the most powerful, though.

And still the US is a complete joke. The entire world thinks its a joke. And for you to think that US is the most innovative is very moronic. All the things you mentioned above do not equal 'Power' to me. Nobody fears the US. Countries like Russia / China are way more powerful these days. 

US is far behind on so many matters.

I know it isn't, but it's them who have "popularized" it in the modern world (media, business, etc). Just like people not even knowing Portugal exists but knowing they speak Portuguese in Brazil.

Yet you fail to provide examples. You have to remember that all countries in the world are permanently preparing for war, that's a fact. That's also why every country has a military. This map will show you why the US is more powerful than any other country. They literally own the world and world trade.

 

All countries fear the US. You're either the US' friend. If an ally turns against the US (like Iraq) your country will go to war within the next few years. If you're a friend of the US (NATO) you'll be granted protection from Russia. Trade with the US is way more profitable, too.

And yes, the US innovates. The internet, probably the biggest innovation of the past 50 years, is a US invention. The US also has the most money. They can buy power in any country - that's why they're friends with Israel and Pakistan.

 

Please, besides how you feel - provide arguments as to why Russia and China are more important and powerful than the US. You say the US is behind 'on so many matters' but I really can't think of anything besides China's gigantic population.

None of us thought he would do this? I would like to correct that for you: "Many of us thought he would do exactly this." Just so you know, the imperative drive to vote for Hillary was not because of our adoration of her, but because of the damnation of our liberty as a nation should the alternative take office...say we pretty expected this, though the lengths get more unbelievable each day.

It's not a messy thing to say at all. To expect more of our leaders and our people, is to strive towards a more perfect union. These retaliatory remarks are from a deepening disappointing in the system we already felt was broken.

The US talks of peace but only ever works towards war, and in modern times, war will surely mean the destruction of the world. Someone needs to teach the US what it means to be a peacetime power and a place of dignity, and these sentiments might do exactly that.

Please, besides how you feel - provide arguments as to why Russia and China are more important and powerful than the US. You say the US is behind 'on so many matters' but I really can't think of anything besides China's gigantic population.

Let me point out that the Internet has been invented by Robert Cailliau (Belgium) & Tim Berners-Lee (UK).

On the progression front come on: 1 example is Gay marriage. Legal since 2001 in The Netherlands. Legal in the Us since 2015.

+ I have never stated that the US isn't important to the world. It clearly is. But the moves the country has made during the last 15 years weren't all that. For instance the war in Iraq that Bush started by lying about nuclear weapons. ISIS is a direct effect from that war.

And then there are the American people. Don't get me wrong I have met many amazing ones. But also the plain stupid ones. Who really believe we in the Netherlands walk around in wooden shoes and who believe that Amsterdam is a country etc. The Problem with the US is its ego. 

And lets not forget the non excistent American Dream. 

China and Russia are threats. Communistic threats.

Try giving up your room, your life, when your life is supposed to be all about you for seven months too your mooch of a sister and her brood of two children. WHILE you sleep on the couch and manage to get ready every morning for school which you have to ride a bus too, which is filled with even more annoying children.
