Is Joanne era that big of a change for you guys?

It's not that big of a change for me honestly. I'd say the biggest "change" would be the fact that she incorporated more of a country style with some of her songs/asethetics. Other than that, I felt like it was pretty natural, and not like a huge jump or anything.

I've been a fan since ARTPOP, and while ARTPOP and Joanne are two completely different albums, the transition inbetween (everything from C2C, to AHS, to her tributes, etc. etc.) made a great transition into Joanne.

The promo is more spaced out and she did a lot of performances and appearances pre-Joanne to get her name back out their in a positive way. She's just going about promo in a much different way, and after the SBHTS we will probably get more promo.

You're right when you say that she's always changed. But what was always consistent from The Fame through Cheek to Cheek was how over-the-top everything was. Even her AHS: Hotel era felt that way. Everything was always a major event with her, and I just don't feel that coming through in the Joanne campaign.

Im realizing she's grown up and so am I. She's not the young 22 year old singing just dance. I'm not a high school obsessed fan any more. I guess I just wished there was more... Idk OOmph to Joanne. It feels small and conservative. I always thought Gaga would go a route like Joanne day but idk I don't even listen to Joanne anymore. I listened to her other albums much longer. TFM I listened to for a year and was still not bored. I miss all the theatrics and costumes and wigs tbh. But I know it's not where she wants to be right now and I understand and respect that. I guess I just feel disillusioned after being a stan since just dance. It's like you never really know who she is. Which is mesmerizing but also scary that I used to idolize her music, image, fashion, messages, and politics. But that persona is completely dead and lady Gaga as a persona is now something different. Something reserved and less... robust. Joanne feels detached. It feels conservative rather than progressive and I relate Gaga to progression. But anyway that's my rant. Love her as always and always will buti guess what it comes down to is time has changed her as an artist and myself as a fan.

I like the music on Joanne, which is the most important thing to me. Ever since The Fame, I've been a big fan of Gaga because I know that her name equals good quality music. Sure, she has released a couple of songs here and there that I don't love as much as a I did when she released The Fame Monster / Born This Way but every artist experiments with different genres and sounds, and that's what I admire about Gaga, she has gone 100% the opposite of what I expected and I ended up loving it.

As for the "Joanne era". I really don't care that much. Sure, there are a couple of music videos and she has done these performances, etc. but all I care about is the album and her tour.

Not really for me. I stanned post-Cheek to Cheek, so when no expectations at the time was expected. For Joanne, I suppose the biggest change for me is Gaga changing the primary objective of her appeal to be more relatable to the traditional folks, and maybe a couple less heels or two.

It was not a change for me because I have always liked gaga for how she makes thing cohesive in different era. It marks a journey and evolution. PI: cropped tops and jeans MR: Joanne hat, it feels completed and fits the song aesthetic. ARTPOP honestly seems a bigger change when she changed 5 outfits a day with different style, such a chaos for me. But she back it up with the "I am the canvas" concept so it is ok.

Ever since BTW, it was obvious that she wasn't going to be doing pop her entire career. And contrary to previous expectations, she proved with C2C that she wasn't going to wait until she was middle aged before branching into jazz standards either. Fans knew that a big change was coming when BTW come out so I'm surprised some are still a bit late to the party. Gaga isn't your average popstar and she wanted so much more than a Queen Of Pop title. Also, her fans had wanted her to create an album where she played more piano and where her voice wasn't autotuned. We've finally got what we asked for and still people moan about it. Some fans are forgetting that Gaga is a true artist and true artists don't like to do the same thing every time. They do like to branch out and try new things and not be so easily defined. I know, when she started out pop, it's easy to assume that she was going to stay that way forever but pop was just her way of getting started and accepted before she showed what she was really capable of. After 8 years, you'd think everyone would have figured that out by now.

This is the main problem: Folk and Country esque/style/influenced music, is mainly an American thing. People in Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa, rarely (if ever) listen to that style of music, and because Gaga's album was influence by that genre, yes, it is a big change. That not saying that country music is non existent in these contents, it's just it isn't popular by any stretch of the imagination, and there lies the problem.  An 'Americana' like album, wont be that popular other than in America.

As some people have said, it's not necessarily the visuals that are lacking, but more the lack of it that's lacking.
