No one can really bash Adele because everyone would stick up for her whereas for some reason the media always thinks Gaga can do with being knocked down. This basically. Adele is very much out of the public eye as much as possible. She doesn't do a whole bunch of promo and interviews unless her album has just dropped so if anything media outlets just love to be able to get her and people also don't see her enough to get sick of her as she completely vanishes between albums. She's very smart. I think maybe gaga has seen how Adele has just been able to enjoy the music side and I think she wants that for herself for a bit. And the public tend to support the ones who are getting the most promotion and media attention. There have been #1 hits last year that sounded very similar to other songs also released that year that didn't even crack the hot 100. The reason why one goes to #1 and the other doesn't is because one of them is by a newer talent who is getting a lot of exposure. That's what it all comes down to. If Gaga got more exposure and the media and her peers bigged her up as cool, she would sell more. Yes, even with her country/rock inspired sound right now. Someone like Beyonce, for example, would never have had success with her current album full of risk-taking and no big hit singles if she wasn't the force in pop culture that she is, without her huge fanbase, without the promotion, without the positive press. Without all that stuff, such an album would not be selling, she would not be considered cool. Gaga just needs all the major promo slots again (the SB is almost here, thank goodness) and some positive media spin to sell her as cool again and she has a chance to come back regardless of what music she is making.
