OMonster 14,667 Posted January 16, 2017 Share Posted January 16, 2017 To be honest, whilst the Black Eyed Peas were vocally and musically a mess... they did put on a very visually captivating show. It felt exciting - it just didn't sound it. At the complete other end of the spectrum is Bruno Mars. Although he himself was on top form; I didn't think his overall production was at all impressive. It felt very messy and erratic almost. It lacked hugely in cohesion, and - as a spectacle (which is what the half time show ultimately is) - it was really poor. What happened with Bruno is my biggest worry for Gaga, too. I know that she will deliver (unquestionably so) - but I'm not sure if the production will. It has to be so slick, focused and tight in my opinion. Even if Gaga is on her absolute A game... the Super Bowl requires more than just a good performer. Every aspect of the set has to work for it all to come together. OT: I think, overall, the 'worst' headliners would probably be Coldplay... but they were saved by Bruno and Beyonce. Before those two stole the show (very literally) however, Coldplay's set fell incredibly flat.
