I really like some of these songs but yes they are not memorable and will be forgotten in a year

But Be Alrigt will be remembered as the bop it is :lolly:

Guys, just wait for musical rebirth in 2018. I don't know why but during every transition between decades, pop music is having it's golden era. I mean, just remember songs released in periods 1998-2003, 2008-2011... even Jennifer Lopez is releasing hits during these periods.

You guys all sound like old people complaining about when music used to be good :laughga: find some more genres to enjoy than pop.

Kesha could bring momentum with either dance pop or psychedelic pop.

Gaga's country-rock-pop-folk era isn't over.

Katy still has to release.

Swift is releasing soon.

Paul's cheerleading and poor English rapping abilities added nothing to the song.

The Joanne Era ended when you guys made Million Reasons the second single after PI already flopped

I hate this trend. Another thing I hate is complete absence of a powerful chorus in every song on the radio

live each day like Gaga might drop an album

I want L.C.S. (Lazy chorus syndrome) to end

Having an instrumental chorus sounds good... in some cases

BUT NOT EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN SONG

THIS I swear to god these choruses sound like they belong on a Nokia from 2004. This past year has been absolutely terrible for pop. Gaga is the only one in pop I still listen besides a single song from a random artist here and there :cryga:

I love this so much :diane: but I'm thinking about stuff like Poker Face, Just Dance, Bad Romance, Judas, Hypnotico, On The Floor, Automatic, Starships... electronic dance music

The only trend I want to stop is for people to stop bashing others for their music taste :neyde:

So what you didn't like some of these songs? Why should we care? Why should people stop recording songs like this because they're not in line with your taste in music?

'Tropical house' is just as legitimate and valuable as any other music genre, stop saying it isn't just because it isn't your taste.

I agree, but people will like what they like, and there's nothing to do about that. The song I hated the most last year (at least of those who went to #1) is "One Dance" by Drake. How that even got to #1 is beyond me, and it stayed there for 10 weeks. "Can't Stop the Feeling" by Justin Timberlake, a song I like, only stayed there 1 week.

This reminds me of how "Toxic" by Britney Spears only went to #9 on Billboard (#1 in UK and Norway, though). Most songs above it on the chart were hip-hop, so I guess hip-hop was the hot thing at that moment, at least in USA. Except for "Yeah!" by Usher, which was #1 at the same time, I bet all those hip-hop songs have long since been forgotten, unless you're a hip-hop connoisseur, while "Toxic" is a timeless classic.
