ARTPOP era had a couple, a couple of very good performances, and many mediocre performances. Applause on GMA wasn't good at all, it seemed as rushed and unimaginative as MR video to me. This era have had everything ARTPOP's had but better, except the muppets special that I don't miss at all.

The Cheap Applause was really good

there's a fine line between negativities and facts. Be open minded and discuss the facts, do a complain without constructive comment, that's a negativity without an actual discussion.

this thread is just peoples theories, the FACT is yes she hasn't had a huge hit this album, everything else is people's theories, nobody here knows how well shes gonna sell out on this tour.

She won't ever tour like tmb again or her hip will fall off.

We will probably see 100 dates in arenas for the forsee able future.

Although, Beyoncé went from flop "4" to her tour over a year later which was a huge success.

they are both incomparable. Beyonce is already well known for over 17 years and she is still relevant by producing critically acclaimed albums twice in 3 years. Well Gaga ... you know well.

She wasn't at the time.

ARTPOP is proof you can have a decent tour without hits. Joanne has out-performed ARTPOP so I think we will have a pretty good tour! Wont be as massive as The Monster Ball, but it'll be succesful.

Excuse me but in what world was the single Applause not a hit? It may not have been massive but is was a hit, and her largest hit on radio ever. So ARTPOP is not proof of this. Stay delusional tho about ARTPOP not having a hit.

Joanne is Gaga's first solo album that proves you can sell an album without a hit.

ARTPOP produced Applause, a 3x platinum single that went top 5 on billboard.

Yeah, but people weren't buying tickets to see Applause haha

It hasn't out-sold ARTPOP, yet, but I can see it happening as its a slow burner. But it has without a doubt got more critical/public reception with the GP.

ARTPOP sold 1.4m in the US and 3.5m WW

Applause peaked at #4 and was inside the Top 10 for 20 weeks

Dope peaked at #8

The only thing that is going to help the tour to be at least as big as the artRAVE is the Super Bowl.

Super bowl will be good for the tour. Announce the tour in the midst of the SB buzz and it will sell well in the US for sure. Worldwide may be a different story though..

Europe is stunning hard too and she's doing well in Oveania

In Latin America, she has Mexico (she won't do well there), Argentjna (maybe but no as big as the BTWBall) and Brazil is there for her, Rock In Rio + 2 shows at arenas

The Super Bowl exposure does magic, Beyonce's touring power started after the Super Bowl and Gaga has that power before doing it so I think it's going to be huge.

I've been on the three tours that have been on Spain, and the 90% of the attendees wasn't wearing costumes. People can wear costumes on Joanne tour if they want, it will be no dresscode.

There will be theatrics and beautiful dresses, not necesarilly the kind she dressed before. Can you imagine doing the same album after album, tour after tour?

Same here in Portugal. There were like 20 people max wearing costumes, and the arena still sold out.

Plus, even if some dumb fans miss the opportunity to see the masterful Joanne live, lots of other people will replace their seats. Both times Gaga came to Portugal, I basically dragged along a friend to come with me, and the best part of the concert for them were the piano performances. This time around, after I showed my group of 10 closest friends (not Gaga fans) the Joanne album, they all offered to come with me to the next concert because they liked the music so much.

Madonna has had huge singles and albums sales during her earlier years spanning two decades, she's fading away only during the early 2000s/late 90s. While Gaga was only huge for 3 years at most.

Madonna was huge in the late 90s/early 2000s. Ever heard of Ray of Light or Music? MDNA in 2012 was her first album that did bad and had no hits
