Canadas Oil Reserves stand at 175 Billion barrels (3rd in the world) with new technologies possibly doubling Oil Sands recoverable reserves to 315 Billion soon In Addition there have been massive Shale discoveries in the north still being surveyed that could be as large as USAs Shale Reserves The Government says the current reserves will last Canada for several centuries so theres no need to disturn sensitive Arctic Regions

The new technologies will soon double the recoverable reserves plus the new discoveries will put Canada with 3X more oil than Saudi Arabia within next few years Oh then theres The Oil Carbonates they found under Oil Sands which is estimated to be at least 500 Billion barrels but because extracting it is a bit more costly than Oil Sands companies havent bothered to explore it and so for now it wont even be included in the figures I dont think whatever Oil might be in our arctic region is gonna make any difference for Canada whatsoever given in total we probably have more than the entire Middle East combined

Well tbh ppl hate without knowing all the facts Canada already produces more oil than its pipelines can handle. The pipelines will simply replace a lot of Oil by Rail which is more dangerous. Also Alberta put a Carbon Cap. Regardless of Pipeline capacity, Oil Sands as a whole cannot ecceed 100 Million Megatones of Emmisons per year (which it isnt far from already) or else new projects wont get approved so industry has to learn to lower emmissions before it can expand further. Trudeau Himself said he wouldnt have approved the pipelines without this measure Alberta recently took In short, these pipelines wont change production. Its just ppl bashing it without knowing
