Mariano 958
And let's not get it wrong lol. Shape of you has the trending sound that Sia does. DIC do NOT posses that in the slightest. Anyway it's not like we need Gaga to release generic music. We already have a shot at a hit (A-YO) without Gaga being generic

MR has the potential to become a big hit if airplay supports it after the bowl. A strong single along with strong album sales (that we already have and will continue having in greater extends after the SB) will allow Gaga to have chances to release a 3rd and a 4th single and still have chances of success. If they take their chances with a 3rd single after the SB and the song isn't embraced by the GP unlike MR, then the era will be doomed without successful singles to maintail album sales and exposure in the long run. Exactly. Why would they push a song at the Superbowl with 0 airplay rather than push a song that already has airplay, selling decently on iTunes, leading the pack in streaming, etc.? It doesn't make sense. MR will get performed and be the centerpiece of the performance. It would be smart to perform the 3rd single as well though, to get people familiar with it, whatever it's going to be. I'm sure she's doing PI since NFL has been using it in promo. LetsGetHigh 52,683
A-yo is more generic than DIC. DIC doesn't sound like your typical dance pop song, whereas A-yO sounds like that generic country dance song everyone knows.
Mariano 958
I agree that MR still has potential, but ... it's really tricky now. And Interscope is usually the type of label that would definitely move on to a 3rd single. if MR is to take off, I believe that the 2nd and 3rd single could both co exist on radio, something like a Rihanna situation. I can see MR getting mild airplay for months, while Gaga is promoting a 3rd single at the same time. I think that's the best option, because they can't really rely on MR, that's for sure. It's just that A-YO is actually catchy and would work on radio, let's not. What exactly is that "country dance song that everyone knows " ? Usually when a song sounds super catchy, it sounds familiar even tho it actually isn't similar to any other song. That happened with most of Adele's singles from 25, and that's why some songs like Joanne etc. sound familiar. Cuz she really nailed the melody. LetsGetHigh 52,683
And anyways, generic isn't bad. Gaga needs a generic hit honestly because at this rate the current generation won't know of Lady Gaga.

nick4bty 2,758
A-YO is definitely generic country pop but where is country pop on the charts right now? It's non-existent. Why would they try it with a country pop song than with a song that sounds on trend?

It's semi-trendy sounding and has simple generic lyrics that could appeal to the younger audiences, which is something she desperately needs for pop radio and streaming A-YO is the only song that could do something. Diamond Heart and Joanne are even better choices than John Wayne and Dancin' in Circles. I know these songs (JW and DIC) are fan favorites, but they both will flop faster than you can say Ferrari. Million Reasons and A-YO are the only hit potentials on this album.

Garden Panty 412
A-YO definitely does have potential, one of my friends loved it just because she's a smoker and Gaga said Marlboro However, DIC seems like a potentially bigger song if people react to it well. Mariano 958
Diamond Heart should've been the lead single or A-yo and vice versa for 3rd. And MR and Joanne are the other 2 songs, but then again people might get sick of Joanne very quickly due to the nature of the lyrics. John Wayne is a great album track, doesn't need to be anything more than that. And I can totally see the obsession with DIC and it's just tired. Y' all do it every album. WIth TFM with BTW with ARTPOP just ugh. It's a great dance album track. Just cuz it's dance doesn't mean it will be a hit. Scheisse would've smashed teas. As If. I would love to see DIC as a single too, especially the production is just so great. But not for Superbowl, that should go to the song with the biggest potential. Anyway they already screwed up everything from the get go (with the singles) so why are we even arguing lolz
