It might be physically hard but they are by no means struggling financially Of course, I'm not pretending that they are one late payment away on the rent from being evicted and on the streets, but I'm sure they are surprised at how little they are getting. You might even be surprised about how little they are getting. They might even be in debt to their record label: https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110707/03264014993/riaa-accounting-how-to-sell-1-million-albums-still-owe-500000.shtml It's really not that uncommon. Many big artists have made millions for their record label and still end up in debt to them. For every $1000 in music sold an artist generally makes $23.40. When you're in a group like Fifth Harmony, that's split 5 ways. Artists like Fifth Harmony also have to spend their money on security, lawyers, personal managers, business managers and so on. In the end they are probably making little to nothing and hence feel like they are like slaves. I mean, even during TFM Gaga was bankrupt - she had the Monster Ball that eventually made her money but artists like Fifth Harmony don't have that. Gaga had #1 hits to her name, her music was all over the radio, she was dressed in designer clothes making flashy music videos, she was sweeping every award show. I mean TF Gaga was no doubt more of a success then Fifth Harmony and she didn't need to worry about splitting her money equally with four other members. They genuinely could be in some serious financial trouble and being invited to nice parties with celebrities can only do so much to quell some of the anxiety that's naturally going to arise. I mean Simone Battle from GRL killed herself over money problems. Like I don't think people think of this stuff. It's sad and really quite scary too. Some people on here have no compassion. PopThatArt 2,193
They each chose to be on a stupid reality competition show and be given a deal on a silver platter rather than actually work for their contract. They get what they get for expecting fame so easily. Go see A Star is Born

sipthistea 21,099
Nothing new. Many artists in this industry (If not all) have suffered this kind of exploitation. There should be an entity that controlls this, as it is a job as well.

RAMROD 108,094
But that's showbiz for you, always over demanding. Did she know what she's sign up for or was she only thinking she's going to get rich and famous by itself by only doing such little job and lack of discipline? Like, cry me a river really, lucky she is not a trainee for K-Pop group which are known to have schedule few times more arduous than this one that it is inhuman to Western standards. Srsly she's gotta toughen up.
Saint Laurent 4,862
I can't at people really thinking that this is unreasonable. Honestly, pop stars live a life of luxury usually, but if she doesn't think that she's being paid fairly for the enormous amount of work she's doing then that's her prerogative. lifeasgeorge 9,427
I think we also need to realize they started this group as teenagers, so it's very fair to say they were young, naive, and taken advantage of. What started as a dream for them very easily may have turned into nightmare as they realized the true nature of the business. She's crying and hurt and you guys just say it's not that bad or toughen up, how can you even dismiss somebody's pain like that??? I honestly don't understand how some of you guys stan gaga, who is known for promoting kindness and still can't empathize for other artists live and let live
