NY Times gives Nazi family glossy & pictoresque photo spread

Rather than the actual article itself, I'd like to inform y'all that the New York Times not only tries to rationalize and normalize neo-nazis. They're giving them whole photospreads that romanticize their daily lives.

For a reference: The people depicted in this "We're just a regular family living our lives." spread are responsible for STABBING peaceful protestors with knives.

"Never again" is now. Being a Nazi is OK in America appearently.

I think the point of the article and pictures is to capture the absurdity of the situation. I don't really see anything supporting their views or romanticising their daily lives.

The piece could have done without the photospread and humanizing them imo. The tone of the article is also not very serious as well. Those people are responsible for brutal attacks on peacful protestors, I mean. It lowkey shows a lack of tact.

I can see what the NYTimes is trying to do here, presenting these neo-nazis without any hysterical tone but for just what it is: the spreading of a toxic, racist, dangerous and violent ideology among middle America and "ordinary" Americans. Showing that these neo-nazis are not necessarily extremist, violent and marginal individuals and that racist "cancer" is infecting what we should perceive as "normal" people. That's exactly what happened in Germany back in the 1930's.

In this day and age and with these kinds of horrid individuals, you fight fire with fire, not lighter fluid

There is no way out of finding yourself in violence with these types. Diplomacy will be ineffective in eradicating this disgusting species, especially now in Trump's America. In other words, peace will only be achieved through violence of all types, e.g. physical, intellectual, etc., whether we want to admit it or not. It is the last resort, but it is the only solution it seems like

While it certainly mentions the dark truth, them allowing Neo-Nazis to potray themselves as innocent citizens and giving them a platform for their visual revamp conflicts with the aim of the piece that is attached to it.
