Please get rid of those gifs. Its very hard to concentrate on what you wrote and take you seriously with that face moving and staring at me.

Lawrence encouraged her to write songs, which she admitted can be challenging.

“I get blocked by my own trauma, sometimes,” she said.

“The darkness, the loop of negative thoughts on repeat, clamours and interferes with the music I hear in my head.

“When I’m making music, I can hear all the parts, all the instruments.

“I can hear what it should be.”

She remembered an interview with John Lennon in Playboy.

He talked about how he couldn’t listen to some of the Beatles’ biggest records because the creative process had been so intense — to hear the music again took him back to the insanity.

“[When writing] You start to get into a zone — what I would also describe as a mindfulness.

“You have to be aware that there are unwanted things coming in, but there is clarity in there, too, and you have to find it.”

Its certainly a possibility.

What if she had too many these promo spots and didn't get time to do a video she wanted, then fans started whining "Well where is it?! We've been waiting for 84 years!"  So she had to improvise and gave us that.

One of the directors was so grateful she used his footage in the studio with white background. It's like she called someone last minute. :oprah:

To the fans that are still bitching about the MR video, I am so very glad that you guys seemingly have no other problem in life than not getting an extravaganza-driven video from Lady Gaga. Plus, repeatedly missing the point and not being able to get the honesty and pain that she is putting into her latest work, and even confusing it all with a creative block, further proves how... innocent, for lack of a better word, you all are in regards of the matters she's tackling. Which isn't necessarily a problem, but stop trying to imply there's something wrong with what she's doing just because it's beyond your understanding.

The concept isn't so bad. I think it's just the execution. Notice how she had repeating scenes that were confusing at first. Apparently, it was supposed to be a "flash forward" and we are going back to certain scenes not yet shown before

some examples that did this well:

0:43-0:57 shows a nice montage of previews of what happened in the past

The next video if Filipino music but you just need the first 10 seconds

They give previews on what the video is about without revealing too much about the story. In MR, the "previews" already showed like 80% of the story so when the actual reveal (gaga hugging her team and the rosary) came it was redundant. MR's plot had so much build up that the "climax" we got is underwhelming.

The A-YO Apple set up was nice but for me it fit A-YO better. It did not translate good enough with MR

why did it not translate well? I do think her PTSD might have affected it but also othrr factors like she has a revamped team

that's it for now i want to eat my cajun chicken dinner :lolly:

Nope. Just that her plans have changed especially when Mark took over.

Nah, she didn't have a creative block. She's just not as creative as we think.

I do wonder about this. It is a possibility that a lot of the creativity we saw in past ideas, videos, and performances were not really her doing. Its impossible to know whose ideas were whose. Id be really disappointed if this is true.

I am sorry it had to fall on you and your thread, there's absolutely nothing personal, but I've actually remained silent about this whole MR video backlash, and there's nothing wrong with being disappointed and expressing a negative opinion, especially when it comes to art, but it's been pretty much a week and people on here are still not over it.

What I'm trying to say is... she's made a video about the importance of sticking together and the people around us that lift us up, it's pretty much the most important message to put out there at a moment where people all around the world seem to be drifting apart from one another. This is a terrible time to be living in, and what Gaga's trying to do is instill a bit of light and hope in all of this mess - and all you guys seem to be focusing on is... not enough costume changes? I mean, really?

That's really all I have to say.
