And what is this supposed to prove? It could be her most liked video and still be ****.

This prove that the GP loves her and only her fans are throwing sh**s at her..

So now it's more important that the GP likes it instead of her own fans? :spin:

I think that's because song is amazing, one of album's highlight. I wouldn't dislike weak video when it comes with great music.

When people will understand that MR video isn't bad but weak, there's nothing worth to remember, it's very bland and the song itself deserves something better.

Still quite shocked at how harsh people are being, her fans no less, the video really isnt as bad as people are trying to make out. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I feel like at this point people are using that entitlement as some sort of free pass to be prize arseholes.

Not the bore worms!

Here are the main reasons why I don't like the video.

tl;dr: it doesn't feel real enough and, as a story, it could've been told more beautifully and romantically since she set a high visual standard with her live performances.

Gaga wants to establish a human connection with her fans through a toned-down, simpler video showing footage of her backstage just being her. That would be fine if she didn't set a narrative as the continuation of Perfect Illusion.

There is a story being told here about the pain that she went through, from the desert to the backstage set. But where do we draw the line from what is supposed to be an allegory of a real story to what is actually real, genuine footage of Gaga hurting? She wants to convey a message by being the real and raw her in front of a camera, while abandoning romanticization and escapism, but inside a narrative and a script.

That's hard to achieve. To me it didn't feel genuine because the tears are scripted. She's acting as herself. It might work as a metaphor of what her life is and what that pain feels like, but metaphors have an inherent pass to be fantastical and larger than life, no matter if they're extremely dark and crazy or as colorful and campy as they can be.

That takes me to my biggest disappointment about Million Reasons MV: Gaga lost a BIG opportunity to turn her pain into something beautiful and to impress her audience. You could say I'm not accepting her current aesthetic but that would be intellectually dishonest of you. She herself created high expectations as far as visuals are concerned for this video since most of her high profile performances of Million Reasons were so amazingly romantic and had amazing production values. AMAs, X-Factor, VSFS, SMAPxSMAP...those performances were visually striking and so beautiful.

Instead, she blindsided us with a music video that doesn't do those performances any justice. Plus, we're given elements that we had already seen before: her Perfect Illusion look. Her SNL-Joanne look. It's so disappointing.

A performance about a real story that kind of turns into a documentary but is still scripted. An established precedent of romantic and fantastic live performances broken by a video that feels ordinary and boring. Gaga might WANT to feel "ordinary and boring" once in a while, but she doesn't have to sacrifice effective storytelling and beauty in order to hit that mark.

I guess most of us are used to having Gaga give us these music videos with huge sets, choreography, stunning outfits and visuals, that we're getting shook now that we're getting something completely different. To be honest, I can understand where these people come from -- because I am one myself  -- because we fell in love with the former instead of the latter. Not to say that Gaga can never put out anything if it doesn't have all that extravaganza but I just expected more from this video... so no, I don't think this video was worth the wait, unfortunately.

it's so heavy, with the rosary...give me a break. I really didn't like it it's terribly boring and this guitar playing... not so sure. and as some of you said, it would have been much more moving if her real family showed up instead of random crew members. I'm an easy crier and my eyes stayed super dry the whole time, I cringed instead. :saladga:

I live for Gaga and I was living to have another otherworldly video but this was disappointing and is easily her worst video. Eh Eh was basic but it was cute and fun, TEOG was simple but it was full of energy, this just screams low budget and a lack of original ideas. It's a shame because PI is so well-shot and this is just dreadful.

I totally understand what Gaga intended with this video, and it does fit her personality, but as soon as I saw her holding a guitar I closed the video. Soon after I prepped myself and watched the whole thing and sure enough, her playing the guitar was the most off putting thing, in a ridiculously long list of off putting things. Like, i called it months ago, this bitch is gonna appear playing the guitar and embarrass herself, and I said, 'gaga girl I really appreciate you learning how to play the guitar and you've made great progress, but you need to stop performing with the guitar until you can actually play it properly,' but she didn't f*cking listen to me and now we have an official music video in her catalog of this pure f*cking cringefest.

I find it beyond tragic that nobody in her entire crew had the balls to go and tell her to put the guitar down at least for this once. Bunch of f*cking yesmen :madge:

that's my rant.

Oh, I'm just visiting-

PI Floppedt

Like many here, I'm underwhelmed by the video myself. :madge: It really didn't connect with her single cover artwork or her live performances, which really confused me. It could have a better and softer storyline. :noparty: Oh well. Time to change my display name to MR Floppedt!

I don't actually hate PI
