People petitioned for a ballad single and they got it, I hope they realized that more came along with it back then. If they expected something huge that's on them  I guess "A-NO" stans are no longer shook. It's a cute video, I'll probably be rewatching it a few times.

I feel like Monsters are completely missing the whole point of this album. This album is about Stephanie Joanne, not Lady Gaga. Naturally the videos and overall mood of the record is going to be stripped back because that’s who she has embraced. She’s not hiding who she is, or how she feels, behind her fashion or performances. She’s being her authentic self and for that I am proud. Did I love this video as much as her others? No. I’m not about to get all pissy though and belittle her and her career. She’s way more successful than any of us, so let’s just all move on and continue showing her love because (based on the MV) she clearly needs that.

but there's absolute 0 creative input, what i saw was a couple extra scenes from PI and AY-O Apple commercial playing a different song. a  commercial  i'm always trying to be open minded but girl made us wait months for it and gave absolutely nothing new to watch. she could've recorded herself playing a guitar with a night sky background on some iphone and it would've been better than anything she's shown in the video.

The concept is the same, it's literally her singing/sometimes dancing in front of a white screen. You were okay with that with A-YO, but with MR you guys take a whole step back and say, "What?!". That's what doesn't make sense to me. 

All of a sudden it was "A video like this for A-YO  would slay!", but now she does it for MR, and mind you, there are emotional elements within the video to tie it together, and yet, the attitude has completely changed. 

This would be different if it were two separate video concepts, but it's literally the same, simple concept.

My problem with that is- what happens when she returns to the extravaganza that was before? What is the truth?? Who is she really? Why did she do this to us (mostly me) the video is fine, albeit boring, but its a ballad.

Simplicity and a personal approach don't justify the fact that it's a lazy ugly video.

It's not authentic. It looks staged for gods sake. We've seen her getting ready before. We've seen her cry emotionally and drop on the floor before and it was done a MILLION times better. GUY was personal. MTN and You & I were personal and authentic ! This looks like a freaking fragrance commercial....

The biggest problem for me about the video was how it looks like lots of different concept footage stitched together and nothing about it looks cohesive. It looks more like a behind the scenes video than a music video.

Especially since the AMA's and Victoria Secret performances were so breathtakingly beautiful
