She originally wrote the song this way, then later added R Kelly because she thought of him as the 'king of R&B', thought it'd be cool if he'd feature, asked, and he said yes. Imo though his verse is trash. I get it. He's playing the role of the people who treat her badly. But it twists the song from being about her body being 'owned' by the world, and how she gives her body to her fans at her shows even when she's in pain, to just sounding... wrong... It would've been iconic really. I love this version! It's definitely the best version of all! So many layers and harmonies and it's so catchy. But I also could've seen people comparing them too much and saying that Gaga is just trying to sound like Christina, which she wasn't. I think the point of this song was for Gaga to show the world that she could write an R&B song and sing appropriately, not that she could grunt as well as Christina it would've been best though if Christina wrote her own verse, but they kept the one about her bones. I really like that verse because it's really personal about her hip injury and how she kept performing in pain because she 'was giving her body to us' I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Disco Heaven is on International Deluxe of The Fame Monster on my spotify. But DWUW solo is nowhere to be found on there, and it's my fav version of the song... She doesn't need anyone else for it.
