Modern Ecstacy

For me, It was Marry The Night not Judas. I think MTN was the only single off BTW that flopped? (correct me if I'm wrong tho) and then after that nothing was ever the same =/

Judas is one of my favorite song of hers. Its very european and was a "huge" hit in Finland and other parts of Europe. At the time it was played in every nightclub. Good times.

I need to go to an epic dance club that just blasts gaga bangers. My gay dream.

I have always believed that with Judas she tried to copy (yes, I said it) Madonna's like a prayer. Madonna benefitted a lot from the "Like a prayer"-scandal. It made her that controversial yet iconic figure in pop culture and like a prayer is still being played on the radio/clubs. I feel like with Judas Gaga wanted to achieve exactly that and create a moment in pop culture that would never be forgotten and a hit that would still be played 30 years from now.

I think Katy Perry is the voice of the GP.

Alejandro started ha decline, and then Judas sealed her fate.

She became an attention seeking satanic wh*re in the eyes of the GP.

But it seems she is trying to repent with Million Reasons, she "bows down to pray".

Maybe we can have hope for her career again.

Judas is such a good song one of her best along with Bad Romance it was a top 10 hit here and because Gaga was so big it got on the radio! It was the only cool single on born this way for teenagers to obsess over. Extremely controversial lyrics tho. I think Applause killed her. She was massive and it was meant to be her big comeback she needed to go back to being cool again after the born this way era but he didn't applause was just too weird and clunky and not polished enough and ARTPOP as an era for Gaga to be the it girl again.

Judas got bad rep because of subject matter on top of force releasing it on the weekend of Easter from what I remember. It was starting to leak so they rush released it, but I think with the polarizing and controversy of Born This Way as an era pushed some people too far. Born This Way was always about loving who you are and really pushed boundaries on LGBTQ+ rights and I think it rubbed some people the wrong way. So media took the negativity and blew it up because that's what gets clicks and makes headlines. It became that much more controversial to like Gaga at that time. Since then, yes there has been a downfall as far as commercial success with videos and such. Then of course the hip break/ blackout into ARTPOP with bad/no management didn't help. Regardless, I don't think I would change Judas being a single. The Judas era slayed :firega:
