No, it didn't achieve longevity, but it peaked higher than songs like MTN & G.U.Y. and MR, despite not peaking high or receiving airplay, is loved by mostly everyone who hears it. So, overall, combined with the steady sales rates, I'd deem the album a success. I mean, after all, it did go #1. (This is just proof that Gaga is an album artist over a singles artist.) Objectively looking at this, considering it's Gaga, who, let's face it, hasn't had a mainstream song or album probably since Born This Way, and also considering that the sound of the album is so different, it's doing fantastic in my opinion. Is it Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, success? No. But, honestly, I'm okay, and we should all be okay with that. We don't need to put her on this gigantic pedestal. Also, technically the album is a success cos she made it cinveying her emotions into words and songs, and she wanted to make old school kind of pop album, with organic melodies, not beats from computers, and she did it, she actually make songs that are relatable and easy to understand by people. ARTPOP sold in 1 week about 700.000 copies WW (including Japan's first week) Joanne has sold 574.000 copies WW within 5 weeks. And better not talk about Born This Way's sales.
