Have You Ever Faced Racism or Homophobia?

I genuinely want to know if you've ever heard, seen or have been a victim of racism or homophobia.

No one should encounter that kind of s**t. :/

MY STORY:

I went on a roadtrip to Lake Beaver in Arkansas. We had to stop for gas in a town not far from the lake. I went to buy a Twix and Dorito's for my Aunt and Brother. I went to pay until some a**hole told me "To go back to Mexico filthy immigrant". I was so close to losing my s**t. But, ya know but I decided not to, bought the candy and left like a queen. It didn't help that he called me f*ggot. Lesson learned. It's not good to be a Athiest Mexican twink in Arkansas. :toofunny:

Gurl, everyday, it's not even worth mentioning. The only think we can do is to try to make a difference for the future.
It sucks you had to experience that though :(

There were some rather right-wing people in one of my former classes. Everyone else was superchill about me being gay but they always had to sneak in an annoying remark or ask if i didnt find it unnatural. Freaking annoying. But other than that never...

I'm a white (appearing straight :emma:) male living in North Texas, so thankfully no.

I have been called fat and gotten made fun of for my weight though, if I really want to seem oppressed. But obviously it's not as bad a racism, sexism, or homophobia.

I apologize to anyone though who has experienced hate due to their sexuality or race, there are some real assholes out there (especially in America). I've seen friends go through it and it's utterly disgusting.

One, five, ten lay a million on me

I was bullied really badly when I was 12 - 13 in secondary school.

There were a few individuals in paticular that were really nasty, but what was even worse was the fact that people chose to stay away from me. I felt extremely lonely. I think one of the worst things was that one day I stood up for myself once by punching one of the worst kids and then that group went to a teacher that hated me and told him that I had been bullying this kid. I obviously wasn't but the teacher himself was I expect homophobic and went along with it. I told him what had been going on and he told me that I shouldn't be surprised because of the way that I act and that I was asking for it. I was so crushed and depressed, I even contemplated ending it but I somehow found the inner strength to overcome it. I felt like I had nothing to lose so basically started acting out and thought "f*ck it, if people already don't like me then I might as well be an asshole" and ironically that made people like me. :emma: A few fights later, arguments etc and I ended up being in the "popular crowd" by the end of my second year because I acted out. I carried on for a couple of years until I was just getting into trouble all the time and realised I was probably going to fail school if I carried on.

I wouldn't wish how I felt on anyone but in a way, I am glad it happened because it basically taught me how strong I can be and it's given me so much confidence now. Plus it's taught me how to be a real asshole so I feel pretty confident in my ability to out asshole anyone.

Yes during primary school a lot I was called a F***tt  I was called all sorts of things(I'm tearing up actually now) I was called the equivalent to the n word in primary school at such a young age I expierence racism nearly everyday. I get called all those things and that was when I'd attempt suicde, cutting myself until i found self love  and realized **** all of you who think being different is unholy or bad. So yeah I still experience both in high school now. Heterosexuals seem to think making homophobics jokes is like funny But honesty truly it's not. But honestly even now I have some axiety and self esteem issues

That undercover racism/homophobia you get from your "liberal friends" who think they're oh so cool for having a non-white gay friend to constantly go to for relationship advice  :green:
