I won't talk about her artistic moment and the destruction of Gaga concept.

but I have to say two things, in one moment of this interview she says she used to dress artistic all the time for her fans. At the end she makes us think that super bowl will be like a big dive bar.

I understand the pain of fame, but honestly Gaga herself has always been aware of that, can you guys remember her words on 2009 VMAs? "I pray the fame won't take my life". So Gaga, I hope at least we can celebrate those golden years from TF, TFM, BTW at the Super Bowl, cause we loved the way you used to dresse for us, and we loved how you performed for a whole generation.

ok, I talked about her artistic moment

I'm gonna post something someone said on ATRL

If you couldn't tell, I am very passionate about Gaga, has been since ha debut. But fact is she is doing this interview to begin with. If she didn't want that kind of attention she wouldn't be doing any interviews, and definitely wouldn't break down in tears. Most people wouldn't recognize her without the make up and wigs. She had this interview coordinated through her publicist, manager and a whole bunch of staff. The interviewer was given these questions to ask her, for a specific reason and in order to provoke an emotion from the viewer.
This whole entire interview has been carefully conducted to project Gaga in a different light that's more relatable and in line with her current aesthetic.

Besides am I not allowed to express myself? Not everyone is content with her because at the end of the day "Lady Gaga" is a product. And all of her fans invested time and money in her. Stefani is the artist and always has been, she knew exactly what she was doing this whole entire time, and she obviously deals with her own issues in her life but she could've crawled back into anonymity at any given time.

This site is a loophole, on one end people preach for tolerance and acceptance and on the other one can't even express themselves.

When she talks about the property line it puts into perspective places like GGD where so many people come to discuss her entire life :wtfga:

I love Gaga but every era feels like a tragedy, even C2C. Every era seems like the happy aftermath of the previous era and after a while everything ends up being sad.. I know Gaga has feelings and she evolves but her life isn't that bad, there's people with REAL life struggles out there and its been a tradition to cry it out on TV since 2011. I feel bad for her though I think most of it may be because of her commercial decline and pressure that comes with it and this is her way of coping with that.

Probs the stupidest thing I have read the whole day. I loathe this kind of thinking (if it ever is, as it probably is the dumbest thing in the world). Are her feelings invalidated because of what other people are experiencing? Must anyone's depression, sadness, or anything  be anchored to anything that is around her - around anyone for that matter? Because if that's the case no one has the right to be sad because someone would always have it worse than anyone. No one would be allowed to feel because someone would always have it worse. Truly the dumbest thing.  And is she really trying to pander on your pity with these interviews, or is she just being normal human being, who has issues and wants to be candid in an interview? "Tradition" your sorry ass.

This is what I've been trying to understand.

I really think that she just lied to us back then, and now she's authentic and real. Even if the Gaga-persona was not 100% fake, it was to a certain extent.

I think Gaga was always her but I think she wanted to be the strong, confidant, interesting, artistic, creative, avant garde, person that Gaga is all the time. She didn't want to show her vulnerable side, meaning the side of her that is unsure of herself or the side of her that wants to relax and watch tv in sweats with her family.  That's what she means by not being able to take the makeup off back then. She thought the because she is a performer she owes it to her fans to be "on" every second of the day because she wants to create that fantasy for us. She realized these past few years that she does not have to do that.

So, I don't think she ever lied to us, she is just taking pressure off of herself now.

The whole concept of personas and what is real and what is not is pretty hard to fully understand.

This person isn't necessarily wrong, but it sets up Gaga for a lose-lose situation.

If you want privacy you can't put yourself out there. But if you want a successful music career you have to put yourself out there. So what do you do? Strike a balance, a skill Gaga hasn't mastered. Truthfully, not many celebrities have. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many people who obtain fame end up totally ****ed in the head at some point.

The concepts this post you've quoted project the idea that no matter what Gaga does in the public eye, it's marketing and not genuine. She's in a damned if she does, damned if she doesn't situation.
I think the poor girl wants to find a balance between being her true self and obtaining marketable success.
Some people are fine with strictly marketing themselves in public and keeping who they are deep down in their private life (i.e. Beyonce, Taylor Swift), but I don't think Gaga can suppress herself in the public eye like that. She's a smart artist but not necessarily a businesswoman at heart.

One criticism I do have of Gaga and her mindset is that she is always trying to impress other people. Fans, family, significant other. It's not a bad thing- and I'm the same way. But I think in a lot of ways Gaga relies so heavily on making those people proud and doing so much for them that she loses sight of herself. She's such a giver, she wants to trust people and love people. I want to see her do more for herself individually. She deserves to be able to be a little selfish after all she's done for others, imo.

"Gaga had trouble washing off the persona she created"

So she basically once again admits that "Lady Gaga" wasn't the real her. :saladga:

She phrased it like "I always wanted to be in my artform" or something like that. The reporter said she had trouble washing it off. We all knew that she didn't walk around her apartment in 10 inch heels and wigs. She's never been that way. If you have her Terry Richardson book, she spends most of her time in old tshirts and underwear when she is at her home. The point was that she couldn't step out of that part of her. It's all a part of her.

Loved this interview.

You aren't a human being if you aren't evolving and changing in certain aspects.
