And while she will never been represneted in american media as those mentioned she is extremly influencial- maybe not as much to tose limited to reading celbrity tabloid. Every relevant citic recognize greatness when it comes to her sound and production- becuase it was created by her and as a genre it is unique and easily recognizable as hers- same is with visuals, music videos as well as active and progresive involvment in real political issues-not just those who have hash tag on twitter.

get it guys, M.I.A. is a "cool girl" and those mentioned realised that, and start milking of of her aestethic years and years later (especially Rihannas whole urban sound that she get from producers) and they all knew that nobody would notice beacuse she is not as prolific in celbrity  circles- those that Rihann, Beyonce try to sell as something authentic.
