Dermal fillers wear off and aren't permanent, so in order to keep the look she's going for she'd have to go continuously. Not sure if I'd call that an addiction.

For me, personally, I just like her face without it.

I acknowledge that it goes against statements she has made in the past, but I also acknowledge that people's views change over time, just as Gaga's can, but I also acknowledge that it feeds into the larger, more systemic views of conventional beauty.

I've always admired Gaga for pushing against those standards, not towards.

That said, I feel like that at least inside, she's the same woman I've admired from before. Loud and passionate about her political views, still an incredible artist, and such.

Well it's her money and her body, she can do whatever she wants with it, it's none of our business. She was all about Born This Way back then but she contradicts herself all the time and people change their mind so I honestly never expected Gaga to not do some plastic surgery to her face later in her life, she has the right to do it if she wants.

I don't like what it's done to her lips (they forever look fake) and her smile looks so strained now, but I don't control her and I wouldn't want to. Many of my friends have gotten cosmetic procedures though, she's an adult and sometimes it's healthier to just keep your opinions to yourself. I think it's okay to say it's not your idea of beauty, but speculating why she is doing it goes too far imo. Who knows who Gaga really is, or how she really sees herself, she has a lot of loved ones in her life that I'm sure will help her out and give advice if things weren't okay with her. She bleaches her hair, has worn wigs, makeup, tapes her face, injections are just another form of expression to add to the list I suppose. If I admit playing with hair, makeup and clothing is an art form and not shallow, then I have to say it's okay to sculpt your face if that is what you want. As long as she finds herself beautiful, then that's all that matters in her life.

I can't stand the over defensiveness of Gaga on here sometimes though, some people can't handle any kind of criticism about her, no matter how innocent. This is a site dedicated to Gaga that has fans from all walks of life, we should enjoy the difference in opinions and keep it an open discussion, not attack each other.
