Study Finds Veganism To Be The Most Sustainable Diet, Published By PLOS

My family always grew up eating meat, because my dad is the kind of guy who HAS to have red meat with every meal(despite a history of heart problems in his family :air: ), but my mom is primarily a vegetarian, and also an animal rights activist.  I definitely want to try transitioning to a largely meat-free diet, though like some other members, I'm not sure if I can give up meat completely.  My biggest dilemma is the lack of guidance that I've found on how to be vegetarian on a tight budget; maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I was wondering, @Anastasia, if you could PM me some resources of cheap vegetarianism, since you seem to be very knowledgeable on this subject.  Thanks!

I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

I could be fine without meat. But couldn't live without milk products and eggs, see I'm italian and a pastry chef..

can I breed a couple of chickens to make me some eggs? I swear I won't beat them

Actually you can use chickpea water (for example from canned chickpeas) as egg replacement. People say it works like it. Click here: https://www.wired.com/2016/05/mysteries-chickpea-water-magical-substitute-eggs-no-really/

And for milk... You can use vegetable milks (almond milk, oatmeal milk, coconut milk). Also vegetable creams (soya cream etc). You can even use something called Tofutti (kinda like Philadelphia) which is made of tofu and other stuff, to replace Philadelphia.

I can't say these replacements work as well as the traditional thing... But if you do research and find tips and recipes with these products I'm sure you'll find something good :) I don't make pastry so I can't talk much. BUT I have tried some things, like raw cakes for example, and it's good :)

Edit 1: Found the term for the chickpea water: Aquafaba

Edit 2:  Recipes I found quickly
- Vegan Sfogliatelle

vegetables make me feel full but in like two hours I'm uber hungry again tho

Then you need to eat more proteins. Try Chili sin carne (with beans instead of meat). I eat a lot and I was full for half day.

Haha. Sorry, been traveling this week so I'm late to the party :emma:

Vegan friends <3 We could, we could belong together, but I'm just a flexitarian :( But I get closer to vegan every day. These last 4 days I've been eating vegan bc I have been in Berlin (Vegan Mecca). Like, almost every place I went to had vegan alternatives x.X I even went to an Italian pizza restaurant that competes at world pizza competition and they had a VEGAN menu! With vegan cheese and pepperoni, tuna and all. Omg  But we can be friends even tho=)

Don't worry about not being 100%, the point is that you have the awareness and are making great choices already. I'm jealous that you went to Berlin, sounds amazing!
