I'm glad they use the song, and I absolutely love the song, but it's such a bad fit  It forces such a boring, slow paced advertisement and it's completely off brand.

They are using a song about how women can lift each other up and don't need to compete with each other in an ad for a show that's sold on the premise that these women will fight and drag each other to the pits. 

Rather than showing that the show will be filled with drama and fights, they show an awkward promo of these women passionately lipsyncing and awkwardly swaying to the song and at the same time rolling their eyes at the idea they could lift each other up and saying "Yes we can" at the "we don't need to keep on one-ing up another" part which

#1 just doesn't make sense (the lyrics are not "We cannot keep on one-ing up another", to which the reply "Yes we can" would make sense)

and

#2 just seems to highlight how exploitative the show is and how it reinforces patriarchal structures that pit women against each other rather than having a show that depicts women who support each other and treat each other as allies.

Hate the ad, show looks awful and it was a bad choice to choose Hey Girl. In saying that though, the song slays and manages to be the only likable thing of the entire ad.
