ReidOne 12,427 Posted November 12, 2016 Share Posted November 12, 2016 I've realized something that I have not seen mentioned here or in the media yet... but I believe Gaga is making a HUGE statement with this "Purple Rain" shirt... and NO, it's not just about the Prince song. During Hillary's concession speech, as you will recall, she and Bill both wore purple. Which was very symbolic. The CNN anchors commented immediately after that "purple is the color you get when you mix red and blue together." WOAH. That is a powerful statement for unity. So now, bring in Gaga. She's taking a page from Hillary, using the color purple to symbolize unity. She's actually making 3 statements within this one look: 1) She is "mourning" the loss for Hillary I never meant to cause you any sorrow I never meant to cause you any pain I only wanted one time to see you laughing I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain 2) She is calling for unity... "Purple Rain on my brain" means she just wants peace and people to come together. 3) It's the perfect "book end" to her wearing the Michael Jackson outfit the night before the election. The shirt phrase is actually really depressing . Purple rain symbolizes the end of the world sort of. Purple rain is like depression thats why it says I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain. Since it says purple rain in my brain I take it as chaos in the brain more than a positive.
