I understand that Trump has advisors and such to speak with, but lately he seems to have a lot of backpedaling going on: the wall, Obamacare, etc. If Trump is anti-establishment, then why doesn't he surround himself with that same gimmick? "Draining the swamp" is not going to happen ever since Pence was picked from the beginning. Again, he's already going to surround himself with people who have been in Washington for years. He's backtracking on issues that weren't that realistic to begin with either. It all depends on what Pence gets done. Lol The Republicans have all the power. A lot will get done, it might just be things that people who want society to progess are unhappy about. If the Supreme Court is involved, the changes will last for decades perhaps. We definitely won't be seeing the White House in rainbow colors for the next four years. No. Just as with abortion, the president can’t overturn a Supreme Court decision by himself, although he could appoint more conservative justices. Even then, the chance that the high court would reverse itself is very small. Unlike abortion, same-sex marriage has steadily gained in public approval. Trump could try to reverse some Obama administration rulings that favored same-sex couples on issues such as federal benefits. He hasn’t suggested that he would. And if he did, his decisions could be challenged in court. This is true. The only way a Supreme Court decision can be overturned is through the Supreme Court itself. Trump himself, or Pence himself, can't overturn things like Roe v. Wade or Obergefell v. Hodges, only the Supreme Court can. Even then, a case has to be taken up to the Supreme Court, which is unlikely. So, same-sex marriage and abortion are more than likely not going to be overturned. I just hope that we can come together and stop such homophobic, racist, misogynistic, and xenophobic things from happening during this Trump presidency. And if it'll be mainly social issues that will be reversed or trumped on, then that goes against the whole idea that Trump fans want politics to stick with the economy and such. I'm sure he'll do more than stuff revolving around social issues, but it's hypocritical for Republicans to target any minority. They've focused their campaign on terrorism, jobs, and infrastructure. Republicans are tired of hearing about BLM or gay rights. So why target them? I'm hearing so much about "uniting", but that goes out the window if social progress is turned on it's head. And like I said, this will first be about Trump wanting anti-establishment, but will then realize that he's already part of it. Plus, Trump would be hypocrite if the WH doesn't turn into a rainbow. However, a new conservative judge can do lots of damage. We'll just have to wait. However, I don't understand why some folks, especially conservatives, are telling everyone to unite all of a sudden. Racism, homophobia, etc have all been happening for centuries now. It's just a little too late imo. I DO hope it stops, but no.
Princess Die 1,864
The way I see it, Trump Supporters are as anti-lgbt as the men they allowed into the White House. We should make an example of these people whenever they deny that a shitstorm is indeed coming. So that they can't run back to the community they are trying to destroy. Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤

Lol, yeah the rainbow WH is over. But What? I gave you a long list of concerns yesterday, and you ignored it, but here is a list again: Obamacare shut down and a new healthcare system that is more suited to the middle class, instead of the working poor. Parental leave made available for the middle class, but not to those who are too poor where a tax break won't help. Defunding for Planned Parenthood that provides sexual and reproductive health care, education, information, and outreach to nearly five million women, men, and adolescents worldwide in a single year. A reversal of any progress of plans to combat climate change, and a green light on fracking, coal and other things that hurt our environment more. Decisions that hurt our allies or put them in danger. Tearing families apart through deportation. A ban on immigrants from certain regions of the world. A Religious Freedom Act that targets discrimination against those who are LGBT. An emphasis on "law and order" from the top and a climate of stop and frisk. An appointment of one to three extremely conservative Supreme Court justices who will keep Citizens United and make rulings that, at the very least, make it much more difficult to get an abortion or get married if you are gay. I could go on and on.... If you are a middle to upper class, white, straight male...you probably don't have much to be concerned about, especially if you don't care about the environment or climate change. imnotyourbabe10 6,120
I've lived around 'Murica and am back in Indiana (sadly). Can, too, attest that Pence is a filthy hot mess. I understand that a lot of Trump's actions may not be as doom and gloom as they have seemed but I'm just not here for it for the next four years. Mainly concerned about Pence and the entire gov't being controlled by republicans and whoever gets appointed to the Supreme Court as vacancies arise. At least, at the end of these four years, we can look back and point fingers and say "Look, ya'll had full control over everything--what did you accomplish?" and hold them to that. A peaceful "one day at a time" for now--easier said than done, to be sure--or until things get out of control.
