No this is just Europeans thinking they are more cleaver and superior while look at whats happening to their country, they ended it by their stupidity of supporting socialism. Atleast America has values and sticked to what made the west great. The reason Trump exists is because the left are turning into extreme leftists and so the right need to fight that back with the extreme right to balance things out. It would actually be more stupid to vote for the establishment hilary who is a criminal for the past couple of decades.

The actual fück, you do realize Hillary is center left and that Bernie was the epitome of socialism and working class Americans actually liked Bernie more :madge:

Also, you thinking that the extreme right balances out the extreme left is absolutely ridiculous. At least with the extreme left, every American would have a greater amount of equal rights. But IDK what you're sipping or smoking but you need to stop because it is absolutely incredulous that you think we actually need the extreme right in the US right now. Like, what will become of gay rights? What will become of BLM? What will become of access to education, health, and women's services? Tell us, tell all of GGD how you @Fay think Trump and his administration will bring equality and peace to this nation, because we're waiting

Hilary is not a socialist, shes actually a racist republican that uses the Democratic party. What im talking about is cultural and thats why people wanted Trump. The extreme left is cancer, you just dont mind it because you are part of it. I never said the extreme right is needed, I said its the result of the extreme left, I do not support any of the extreme and dont belong to the left or right as they are all racist and sexist sheeps.

This is one great article of the perspective. In short everyone thinks he's a racist and a bigot because of the media, and maybe he is, but that's not all of the story.

Bringing jobs back to America plays (possibly) the biggest role in his triumph, as there are so many blue collar workers that have lost or are in danger of losing their job.
they are desperate to break the status-quo that is free trade agreements that have been ****ing them up for the last 30 years, and Trump seems to be the one that's wholeheartedly willing and is able to do this.

Let me start by saying this is not my opinion. I'm just trying to understand what's happening around me.

I'm from Europe. The whole morning I've been listening to people talking about Trump's election. Every single person is talking about it, which is somewhat both exciting and scary.

But every single person, and there are no exclusions, say the same thing: "Americans really are stupid". Is this happening everywhere? There is no other speech, no matter who I talk to. And are they? Are Americans really stupid, or are we missing something here? What do Americans think? Because it might be easy to judge from the outside. Are there reasons behind Trump's election besides his foul-mouth attitude?

Does it mean America is completely discredited? Are Americans really that stupid and have absolutely no perception of real politics, social and economical issues, health and education needs? Is America only about celebrity status, reality tv culture and hate propaganda?

yes. YES. a thousand times YES!!!

Well for the record, i kinda agree with that user. Extreme left like Bernie would never work in America

In small easy to manage Countries with Oil revenue like Norway yes...

But the US is very large, economically diverse and too politically deadlocked to ever make socialism work

Socialism involves more Government interfearance both in regulation and spending/taxes

To successfully pull it off you need very competent Politicians that know what they are doing, a political landscape that can actually pass bills relatively well, and an economy that doesnt vary so much from region to region so that the micro-management from Government can work well woth economy

Some Countries can pull off socialism. But I dont see how the USA ever could. Thats my honest opinion :nails:

I can see that

For me, economy is always the #1 factor in my political stances even if i dont agree with everything els the party stands for so I understand if this was the case and I cant blame the people

although him bringing jobs back is a big question mark. Some of his plans would work in favor of economic growth but others are very questionable ideas

I don't consider myself extreme left and I didn't say Hillary is socialist, I said Bernie was. And also, if you don't belong to the left or the right and think that both sides are "racist and sexist sheeps [sic]" then where do you belong, the center? You really think you belong to the center, because it doesn't seem as such?

I mean, I wasn't necessarily implying that socialism would be practical in America, just that for a socialist like Bernie, he had quite a following of working class Americans that Hillary wished she had. I agree that socialism would be very difficult to pull off in the US

Then again, I don't consider myself a part of the extreme left, but apparently to this user, I'm part of the extreme left who are "racist and sexist sheeps". Hope this person has fun getting their rights infringed upon in the States cause Joanne knows I won't be :madge:

Agreed

neither extreme ever works

u need a healthy balance...

Also i believe the more competent a government is and the smaller a Nation is the easier it is to pull off some level of socialism

A large Country with diverse economy makes it much more difficult to micro-manage

CatelynnMarie

I just was having a conversation with one of my friends, and they brought forth an idea that terrifies me even more and I'd like to get some input because I'm just in a total state of anxiety and upset. He seems to think that Russia and Putin are somehow involved in this. That Putin wants America in their back pocket so that he can puppet Trump and the country to do what Russia wants. That this is Russia's plan all along.

I don't know, this is just something my friend mentioned to me over the phone moments ago, and I'm utterly just, idk guys. The US is falling apart internally and the world is laughing at us. This entire thing is such a disgrace I don't know how to cope.

EDIT: I also am not meaning to upset anyone or offend anyone. I'm just terrified of not only what's happening in this country internally but also worrying about international wars/problems that could occur. It also doesn't help that my anxiety is peaking and was already in a bad state at the time of this conversation.

Someone who shouldn't be complaining when our rights are limited, but that's just my opinion :madge:

It doesn't matter to me that you're Libertarian, what matters to me is how you can be so indifferent to the reality at hand. It would be nice to live in a world of libertarianism, but that's not the reality of this country or of this election. There was so much at stake and there is even more at stake now that Trump has been elected :madge:
