Donald Trump tapped into a group of people who don't want to give up their upper footing in this country. Telling people that have had it all, a majority group, that you will protect their privileges...is anbeasy way to win dedicated voters. Sad, but true. I'm so disillusioned by all this...not what I expected at all. A little angry cause I feel the media misled us for ratings.

Tbh I don't think most of us americans are stupid (I didn't vote for Trump). Trump was strategic about his approach on his campaign. He fed on the fears of America. I believe most people voted from fear whether they voted for either party. Add on all the bigots and we have ourselves a winner.

I am a American and I am ashamed and disappointed in my country. I woke up today filled with sadness and worry. No, not everyone is stupid here, and it's heartening knowing that so many people are against Trump. Walked to school recieving a text from my mom to, "Stay safe but always be who you are." A lot of the electoral votes are in those east states and a lot are republican. The middle of America was basically all filled with red before the ballots were counted in a lot of states, especially on the west coast where I live frown.png. Listening to people' defend Trump makes me sick to my stomach. A lot of people are trying to grasp on to a time when things were segregated because to them that's easier than trying to understand something new or "different". Seeing stats of how many white uneducated people voted for Trump says enough for me.

I am incredibly dissapointed in America, even though I'm not American.

Apparently, the majority are incredibly stupid

well considering hillary won the popular vote (as of right now) it's half and half. a lot of americans (across all generations) are really dumb when it comes to politics. i mean i'm only being truthful.

(though a small percentage of people i will acknowledge have some kind of a legitimate argument when they vote for trump. from what i've read, the miners, the metal workers in ohio).

Not all Americans but certainly the majority of them. I don't understand why they elected Trump President.

I was actually planning on moving to the USA but now I definitely won't. I won't feel safe there as a gay man (and I'm also not fond of the fact that they are allowed to have guns in there) and I doubt I would be welcomed with open arms as an immigrant.

Come to a blue state and you're fine.

I don't think Americans are stupid in general, but certain regions are. I hate being grouped in with them. I wish the West was it's own country tbh :saladga:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

Hillary won the popular vote. But due to how the system works we're stuck with this mango skin unless we do something about it.

It's the same in many countries.. it's not that they are stupid, it's just the reality that makes people jump from left to right, Florida is the best example, they had the terror attack so no wonder that Trump won, events like this one brings the "right" out of a person..

Also, there is the "she/he will win so I don't need to vote" problem, the polls and the media were too confident that Hillary will win so many supporters preferred to lean on others and spend this day differently and no to vote..

There are the old people who stuck in the past, they are not stupid, they just see the world in a different eye...

Italy - Berlusconi was a prime minister for 8 years and he's the most corrupted person ever and had connections to the mafia and he molested underage girls .

France - This country is jumping from left to right every time, next elections the right will win for sure, hopefully not the extreme right, but who knows? the reality there is different and more patriotic because of the terror attacks that they had.

Are French and Italians stupid? no.. so Americans are not stupid too..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

America should really not be held up to this great standard for democracy. I'm American, and literally our process for electing a President allows them to win without winning a majority of the popular vote, which is how democracy should be. Instead, with the help of the electoral college, we can have presidents like Bush and now Trump who weren't even voted in by a majority of Americans.
