"Jewish group accuses Trump team of antisemitism after campaign ad that shows pictures of prominent Jews over talk of secret 'global special interests' that 'bled America dry'

Donald Trump's campaign has come under fire again for antisemitism after a prominent Jewish group said it was demonizing Jews.

But at three points in the video, it accompanies Trump's remarks about a wealthy cabal controlling the world with images of prominent Jewish people - something that smacks of antisemitic fear-mongering, the Anti-Defamation League says.

'Whether intentional or not, the images and rhetoric in this ad touch on subjects that anti-Semites have used for ages,' Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, said in a tweeted statement Sunday. 'This needs to stop.'

Greenblatt concluded: ' In the final days before the elections, tensions are extremely high. 

'It's a time when all candidates need to be especially responsible and bid for votes by offering sincere ideas and policy proposals, not by conjuring painful stereotypes and baseless conspiracy theories.' 

'For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don't have your good in mind,' Trump says.

Accompanying 'the levers of power' is a Wall Street road sign. That's immediately followed by a clip of George Soros, a Jewish businessman and philanthropist.

And as Trump says 'the global special interests,' footage is shown of Federal Reserve chair Jane Yellen, who is also Jewish.

A little later in the video, at the climax of a stab at a 'global power structure' that has 'bled our country dry,' there is a shot of a Clinton Foundation event featuring Lloyd Blankfein, the Jewish CEO of Goldman-Sachs bank.

Several commentators, including comedian and Minnesota state senator Al Franken, observed alleged similarities between the video and 'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.'

That's a debunked, fabricated text, first published in 1903, that purported to show the minutes of a secret Jewish conspiracy to the entire world over from oblivious gentiles.

And 'globalism' has entered the rhetoric of the far right as a synonym for purported Jewish cabals. 

Trump supporter and ex-KKK leader David Duke's 'anti-globalism' webpage currently has a headline that reads, 'Even Chinese Intellectuals Recognise Jewish Supremacy Over America!' 

Responding to the video on CNN, Franken suggested that the ad may have been deliberately impregnated with anti-Jewish messages as a 'dog whistle' - a secret message - to the far right.

'This was something of a German shepherd whistle, a dog whistle, to sort of the, a certain group in the United States,' Franken said. 

His use of German shepherd - a dog beloved by Hitler - appears to imply Nazi sentiments.

'I'm Jewish, so maybe I'm sensitive to it, but it clearly had sort of "Elders of Zion" kind of feel to it. International banking plot or conspiracy, rather, and then a number of Jews.'"

Trump has always played to his base. He tried to go towards the middle but his hope has always been that there are many hateful and mad voters out there. TBH it's sick. I don't even know why they are voting for him. What is he going to do for poor white people? It's just so stupid all of it. His entire campaign.

George Soros is a billionaire 'philanthropist' who injects millions into these elections and hundreds of millions all year round funding Democrat and liberal initiatives. You expect people to avoid mentioning the Soros name for fear of offending Jewish people? 

You think it's antisemitic to show footage of Goldman-Sachs' CEO? Last time I checked "Goldman-Sachs" was associated with the corrupt practices that led to the 2008 recession. You think it's antisemitic to mention Goldman-Sachs when Hillary's Goldman-Sachs speeches have been mentioned all throughout the election?
