It definitely fit right in on ARTPOP. I will say that I've never much cared for the "Mary! Jane! Holland!" parts at the end of the chorus. Also, as someone pointed out, the "rich as piss" part is cringeworthy. I think the melody on that bridge is so pretty. She could have done better than to waste it with those lyrics. But John Wayne doesnt have any parts I don't like. It's much cleaner sounding, and I think the lyrics are miles ahead of MJH. I really love John Wayne as well but it's unbearably frustrating how the bridge builds up with the "into our love storm" and then completely deflates as it goes back to the chorus.
