It's a good song but in my subjective opinion is not really indicative of the rest of Kevin's work nor is it as good (not even nearly as good), if you read the quote I replied to, you'd see my point is she should work with him again. Since you like PI I am sure we're on the same page in that respect, albeit for different reasons.

She doesn't have to, but working with other musically talented minds usually doesn't hurt. Also, we saw what happened on a few ARTPOP songs when Gaga didn't seem to consult some help.

I love hearing her collaborators praise how a good person/artist she is and I love when Gaga explains meanings behind her songs because I know she's involved in every aspect of her music and when she tells a story, it sounds organic, unlike some artists who talk like they write their own songs but actually tell their writing team with tons of people what they want and has them work it out themselves or just grab other people's demos.

She was more open to directly collaborating with other writers this time, and I think that's a good thing.  She probably wanted to expand her experience of songwriting a bit beyond "respect the vomit", and the songs on Joanne flow much more smoothly, tell stories, and are void of clunky moments.  I think this was a good step for her to hone her songwriting craft.

Most of her songs she has written alone or only with a producer. Red one famously mentioned that she gave him a 50% writing credit for putting a single word into a song and she needs zero help writing a song from scratch.

Although, I think every Lennon needs a McCartney.
