I'm just going by your logic is all...  Somethings are just blatant racism & some things are just blatant anti-semitism WITHOUT question!  :madge:

It's hard to say if there were racist intentions, regardless the use of a noose is insensitive and anyone with half a brain would think "Hmmm maybe I shouldn't put a noose around someone wearing a mask of a black man."

When I went out on Saturday night there were a group of guys dressed in those stereotypical Mexican costumes and one as a bright orange Donald Trump. I know race shouldn't be used as a costume but how they done it was hilarious and clearly a shot at Trump over some weird racist point. I guess what I'm saying is, it may be a little insensitive but I think it's more political commentary than racist.

This makes me think. To anyone familiar with the terror of lynchings in the US, this clearly looks racist, but it's possible that the insensitive assholes who did this (maybe for just a political statement as you say) are unaware of the history of lynchings.

I personally don't think so, but it's possible. I myself do think racism played a part here. But I often look at things and see the worst. My own bias.

They're probably aware of lynching, I mean I'm not even from the states but was taught about it in History lessons. They may have just seen their costumes as "haha it's funny cause Trump is killing Obama!!" and the if someone turned around and said "Why is a white man lynching a black man your costume" they'd see that implication and realise the racist undertones of their costume :rip:

Of course, they could be fully aware and mean to go down that route but part of me remains hopeful they're just ignorant to that message.

I'm actually a minority too, and if anybody knows what racial discrimination feels like, it's me. You can make yourself feel as superior as you want, but by backing out of a discussion like that, the joke's on you.

Are you a black person who lives in the US?

So...now any act of hostility against a person of colour is deemed racism? Like I'm not trying to defend them, but I don't think that's the definition of the word.

Are you not aware of the history of lynchings and the hanging of black men in this country? Little black boys would be hung for Chris sake!

Its clearly appealing to that long history and the history of racism in this country. Read up on your history child.

Regardless if it's overtly racist or not this type of behavior is unacceptable. It has racist undertones if there ever were any.

Honestly, unless they skipped public education, I don't see how they could not know, its literally taught to everyone

Lynching people has a very racially charged connotation in america, really with all minorities... It's also not a particularly popular method of killing a person, why not shoot him, stab him, blow him up, etc? I think its not that far of a reach to guess that it was on purpose... It would be different if lynching/hanging people wasn't so specific.

Look I'm going to make myself clearer here. What they are doing here isn't right. Whether or not they have racist intentions, it's hard to tell. Of course if it's just Obama being hung, then it's really questionable. But they also have a Hillary mask with them, so if they hung her too, then doesn't it have the same connotation as doing it to Obama? You can't say that Obama being hung is lynching black people, but then say that they hanging Hillary is not the same thing, since both of them are present at the same site. I mean there is still a huge possibility that they are indeed racist, and it's image can certainly trigger people, but if that's their message: to threaten black people, then why do they also have a Hillary mask with them? I'm not trying to defend their actions, but rather questioning the issue at hand, instead of pointing fingers immediately. That's just how I am. I never like to only stand far at one side. But since this is Gaga Daily, some users who think they're so politically correct just can't resist the urge to attack me because I'm not attacking the people in question. I'm not even American. I can't vote. Why the heck do you care?

The fact that jewish people still get such commentary on this website is desperate. I'm sorry on behalf of the person who made that quote.

And yes, you guys think it's racism just because Obama is black? If someone did that to Hillary would you call that racism?

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.
