There is literally nothing there about gay conversion therapy or anything citing Trump's support of this. Not sure what's been said (I'm just casually reading a random page) but Trump signed on Pence to his ticket and Pence is a known enemy of the LGBT community and a known supporter of conversion therapy. 8 hours ago, Muscletank said: Fair enough if you want to support her and vote for her over Trump, but at least acknowledge the clear fact , that for 20 years, both Bill and Hillary Clinton were not supportive of LGBT. If you're saying you are not concerned by this; that is your choice, but at least be aware of it and acknowledge it. Hillary has even mocked herself about how long it took her to be open about being a supporter of LGBT equality. I'm personally fine with the fact that she started out as a right leaning centrist from a religious background and personally opposed equality while her husband saw homophobic legislation passed but that was 20 year ago. Things have changed and she's slowly drifted more and more towards the left, especially on social issues. It's not a flip-flop, it's an evolution. The point is, she's for equality now and her platform (especially after Bernie's influence) expresses that. I like that her stances change with the rest of society 'cause it keeps her from being one of those loons that wants to strip every minority and women of their rights and run the country like it was the 1920's. Also, I don't think @Sylvanas meant they were voting for her specifically for what she could do for them as an individual, though they wouldn't be in the wrong for that really. As I always say, "vote for the one that's going to screw you over the least" and it's overwhelmingly clear that's Hillary Anyway, I think they meant she'd do the least amount of harm compared to the only other realistic choice. She lays out pragmatic, detailed, and progressive plans that she has the experience and knowledge to make a reality. Just have a look: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/ Part of the problem I'm seeing in this election is people taking it too personally. Sure, the candidate as a person is important. I use Hillary's experience, realism, and famous reputation of reaching across the aisle and getting things done to her credit often but that's not what made me vote for her. Her platform. That's what ultimately won my vote. Have a look through that linked page and tell me you don't agree with her. Also, and this is just an assumption, you seem to be equating Hillary to Trump. Almost implying that one is just as bad as the other and that's just simply not true at all. Read The Moron's Case for Hillary Clinton. It's a bit crude (the person who wrote it is obviously pissed off at this situation, as am I) but it's spot on. I would love to read an updated version tbh. Hillary is the only real choice in this election. I mean, you're free to do as you wish but I can't see the logic behind anything except for a vote for her Whimsical bitch

TheJackMonster 1,857
It was a flag that someone gave Trump. Which is why it says 'LGBT for Trump'. He's holding it up to show they support him which changes it a bit.
MonsterofFame 1,797
People don't want to admit it, but Trump is probably one of the most pro-LGBT Republican politicians out there right now. (Probably also because he's not a true Republican.) At the RNC he went out of his way to praise the crowd for clapping when gay rights were mentioned in a positive way. He said something like "I'm very proud to hear that reaction, especially from this crowd." He's probably worked with tons of LBGT members throughout his career in television and the beauty pagents, so I'm sure he knows that they're wonderful people and not devils. ToxicHot 6,444
Why is everyone making a fuss about this? The election is rigged, no matter what this man does he won't win anyway. Besides, what makes you all think Clinton cares about LGBTQ rights anyway? She was a conservative for a long time, she opposed marriage equality for years. Now all of a sudden she's for it? Lol bye. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!

If I sat down and made a list of all the things I USED to be against before opening my mind and accepting different perspectives, y'all would chase me off a cliff. Newsflash, people's opinions on this topic evolve over time. So don't sit there and act like someone's opinion they had back in the 1990s and as recently as the mid-2000s can't change. I know its hard for certain groups of people to accept that because it doesn't fit their narrative, but its the facts. Did you not see the list of CONSERVATIVE justices that he would nominate to the Supreme Court? Either by directly signing anti-gay legislation (hidden within a pro-religious liberty bill) or inderectly by his justices choices, Donald J. Trump will severely damage the LGBT community and the progress we've fought so hard to achieve.

SKANK 14,288
The Presidential Nominee for the Republican Party is waving a rainbow flag. He has a nuanced position on LGBT rights, and doesn't speak about us as if we were sexual deviants. Intolerant political tribalism wont allow members of this site to celebrate what is obviously a small but notable step forward.
