ReidOne 12,427 Posted October 30, 2016 Share Posted October 30, 2016 As I've mentioned, I recently moved to downtown LA and this afternoon I went for a walk to the Grammy Museum hoping to see some Gaga love inside... Holy smokes, did they deliver!!! Literally the moment I walked in the first exhibit (a hall full of Grammys, dating back to the first one) they have a video reel playing highlights from the show over the years. And Gaga's "Born This Way" gets a huge segment!!! I was beside myself!! The Grammy Museum is part of the LA Live complex, which includes Staples Center (where the Grammys are held) and the Microsoft Theater (where the American Music Awards are held). Kylie Minogue also makes an appearance in the same video reel at the beginning. OMFG I was gagging!!!!!! Later in the museum, they have a timeline of classic Grammy moments and Gaga appears twice! First up is the classic "egg" performance of "Born This Way": They also show highlights of the most recent Awards, including Gaga's Bowie tribute: Walking to the restroom, they have the hallway lined with backstage photos of recent Grammy winners, such as Beyonce: and Lady Gaga's first Grammy wins from 2009!!! It's also the home of the Songwriters Hall of Fame: ...where the good sis Diane was inducted in 2001 Daddy Mark is also prominently featured via his Grammy sweep with Amy Winehouse. On the street outside, the sidewalk has plaques for every year's "big 4" winners: Aside from Gaga & friends, they had lots of other cool items, including... A whole showcase full of MJ apparel!! They would probably have more if Gaga had not bought all the rest, haha! Including the white suit he wore on the Thriller album cover: ...and a Whitney Houston dress from her appearance with The Winans at the Soul Train Awards in the 80's: Daft Punk costumes: Madonna is also featured prominently at the entrance. You can literally see this picture of her from "Express Yourself" era in the background as the "Born This Way" video plays when you first enter the museum. ...as you leave the museum, the escalator features the Godfathers of soul, funk and R&B. Prince, James Brown, Michael Jackson, and.... umm... Chris Brown (who I conveniently cut out of the picture, lol). All in all, it was well worth the $13 admission!!! Check it out if you are in LA! And I'm sure there will be more Gaga moments added to the museum by then. I don't mean to be rude or what but this is why The Chainsmokers shouldn't get too cocky.
