Yeah, you're all right.  40% is a gross exaggeration.  But many Trump supporters are serious people and have no sense of humor when it comes to politics.  Some may even turn the TV off as soon as an image of Hillary appears of the screen.  The problem I see is that Gaga needs every sale she can get if she's going to finish ahead of MB, and some sales may be lost because of the shirt.

I do see a way it could work.  If there was a skit where Gaga played the part of a fictitious Hillary supporter, and there was no way it could be interpreted that Gaga herself is trying to push her politics down the throat of the public in this SNL forum, that may be safe.
