They still have several positive reviews to add. Her score is definitely going to increase unless the indie publications tear it to shreds (looking at you Pitchfork). At this point I am predicting a final score between 65-75, but we will see :unicorn:

I'm assuming most of these don't count for metacritic, but it's no matter. Listen, it's not our job to be obsessing over critical reception, nor is it our job to be influenced by them. Don't forget: Gaga has always been polarizing. Even when she tones down the provocation many people just don't get her quirks, and that will continue. She's weird, theatrical, and very blatant in her musical direction. Some people don't like that, and it's fine.

I can understand someone who's completely removed from her to listen to Joanne and not like it. I can also understand a music critic thinking the album is honest and bold. Many artists have a very linear appeal and can thus draw a more unanimous reception, but Gaga changes hats all the time. Some people assume she needs to stay in her lane and fault her for diverting from it, and other people love her diversity. So again, it's not up to you to declare how people should feel about her. Your job as a fan is to buy her music.

Great album, way exceeded my expectations! John Wayne could use some work, and Dancing in Circles never should have made it on the final album, PI still falls flat, but the rest of the songs are really great! World's better than AP, probably better than BTW too! Well done Gaga.

Very true! However I do look forward to reading the reviews during each album cycle though. It's nice to read other peoples opinions and take on Gaga's work, when it's not a character assassination like NYT lol
